Some of the Steelers faithful say that Big Ben will have a big day against the Dolphin secondary. See some of the following excerpts:

Excerpts:

The fins weak link is definitely in their secondary. They drafted Jason Allen to play safety but their corners are young and inexperienced. No more Surtain or Madison back there. I think he could pass for 250- 275 plus 3 scores.

Excerpts:

Here is hoping for a solid Steelers win.

Been going to the Dolphins board...shocked at their Homerism is an understatement.

I think the Dolphins are improved..but some of the stuff they are saying borders on ******ation.

Every board has them...lord knows this board does too.

Excerpts:

I was thinking that the Thursday game would be one of our easier games, but everyone is picking the dolphins to do well this year. I hope they're not as good as everyone thinks they are.

Has Ben ever passed for that much?

How about his forgetable Super Bowl performance where he threw for like 120 yards and an INT. Ben is so overrated.

I think Steeler fans don't know who we have in our secondary. R.Hill had a fine season last year for the Raiders along with T.Tillman, A.Goodman,W.Allen, D.Cooper are all experienced DB's, chances are T.Daniels will return for the opener and he knows Saban system as good as anyone could know Sabans system. Json Allen will be a non factor early. We may struggle early in the season, but thats why Saban has added such experience to the Dline to take the pressure off the secondary. Saban also added speed to the secondary and that was our biggest problem last year, Lance Schulters and Sam Madison were just too slow, R.Howard was just not a good fit for Sabans D. If Steeler fans think Big Ben and his slow moving body is gonna just stand in the pocket and pick us apart, they are dreaming because Dom Capers will Blitz him to death!!

Really, if he has to pass as often as it would take for him to accumulate that much yardage (in their offense), I would say it would bode well for us. They would obviously be coming back from behind if that were to happen. Cowher doesn't run a very explosive offense, and when they are in the lead it's even more conservative.

Ben's big day will consist of big views of the stars over Pittsburgh, along with the ones circling his head after getting sacked repeatedly.:dolphins:  :dolphins:

They need to be worried about how they are going to run the ball against us. Ben isn't as great as what they think he is, he's always had the running game as his crutch. They arn't going to be able to run against our D like they do alot of other teams. Big Daddy isn't going to be having them run all over us and our LB core is too fast for them to go outside. The passing game is the only way they are going to beat us so they better hope Ben is as good as what they think he is.

On the flip side they better think about how they are going to stop our passing game.

Shamboubou you are exactlly right. If the Steelers don't find a way to run on our stellar run defense, they are going to be in trouble.

I think the Steelers will come out fighting but won't have it in them to beat the FINS!!! Since their running game won't get going the offense is going to fall on Ben's shoulders. When that happens we will turn the heat on him and he will be wishing he didn't come back from that motorcycle crash so fast.

Good points in this thread.

1. I don't see Willie Parker doing much versus our front 7.

2. I think we're gonna blitz the heck outta Ben. I know this sounds crass, but his face is still untested. I'm not advocating hitting him in the head, but a quality pass-rush, and a couple of hits (not to the head) might rattle him.

He will have so many guys coming at him in Blitz packages that his head will be spinning before he even gets hit.

Yeah being the youngest QB to ever win a Super Bowl and going 31-5 as a starter is nothing. Not to mention the fact that the Steelers game plan in the AFC playoffs was to pass first and run second to catch teams off guard which Big Ben executed perfectly. Combine that with his game saving tackle against Indy plus his passer rating of 98 and 95 his first two years in the league and I can see your point. That guy is completely overrated
