Here are a few excerpts from Steeler fans venting about ESPN. Doesn't this sounds familiar Dolphin fans!!! So don't get upset about ESPN because ESPN football stands for E-verything S-teelers P-redict -N-egatively.

Excerpts:

Jesus....I sat down for dinner and was too tired/lazy to go hunting for the remote to change two ******ed shows, Around The Horn and Pardon The Interuption. they acted as if the Steelers did not exist...on Around The Horn they were talking about Carson Palmer's win against Cardinal Mooney High School...urr, I mean the Green Bay Packers and said that Palmer looks great but the friend defense might keep them from winning the AFC North, why????? BECAUSE THEY THINK THE RAVENS WERE THE CLASS OF THE AFC NORTH Didn't they learn ANYTHING from saying the same last year?????? The guy from Chicago, Moriotti, or what every his name is, said it first, then the Hick from NY Woody Paige agreed. Then I went down to the basement but when I came back upstairs I see that I just missed Kornheiser talk about Big Ben, I asked my wife what they said and she laughed and said just "more stuff to Jelly Beans you off." Did anyone see what was said? In any event ESPN will pick the Colts, Patriots, Dolphins, Bungholes, Broncos or Ratbirds to win it all every time...I HOPE they never pick the Steelers to win a game, I also hope that Joey Porter, Big Ben, Troy P, Bill Cowher, Willie Parker and Hines Ward were also sitting down to eat dinner and were watching ESPN. If we as fans get fired up imagine the shot in the buddy it must give the players!!!!!!!! :sidelol:

Excerpts:

I share your pain. I can not for the life of me understand why the national media treats the Steelers the way they do. It doesn't help with guys like Boomer Esiason and Chris Collinspuke spewing their hatred for their formal rivals. Does anyone even look at the success the Steelers have consistently had over the last 6 years? One off year that landed us Big Ben but for God's sake. Proves our ability to draft talent.

Regardless of how average Ben has looked all you have to do is look at his record. The path we took last year to win it and no one can give us any credit. They want to jump on the Ravens or Bengal bandwagon, and we know they are rooting for Peyton Manning, just like Joey said! Stop watching these bozos.

Excerpt:

I'm glad that these effing morons continue to keep us low on the expectation radar. Joey P can use this as locker room motivation.

Continue to say it...Ben doesn't have the stats to be an elite QB (except the youngest SB winning QB EVER), FWP is too small to be considered an elite RB, losses of Kimo & ARE are insurmountable, Cowher won't coach next year.

Let them keep talking us all the way to SB XLI!

Excerpt:

There was a time when ESPN was a class act. Now, there just as cheesey as Inside Edition, etc, etc. 5 years ago, they would have brought up T.O.'s latest crimes and left it at that. Now, the T.O. saga carries this washed up network. How lame. MNF is going to be lame also IMO. Now, they have these smashmouthed idiots who think they know football. Mortensen, in my book is the only football guru who I give credibility to, other than him I don't waste my time with these yoyo's.

Excerpt:

Remember when ESPN used to just give you sports highlights and the only commentary was what was happening on said highlight at the time. Remember when they used to just report the sports news, and not form an opinion on every little thing. Remember when prime time used to be chalked full of highlights with only two anchors, not five (that never shut up). Remember when ESPN was all you would watch.

ESPN has become a joke of a network with overpaid loudmouths with no substance, and it's hard to watch it for more than 20 minutes. :sidelol: :sidelol:

Excerpt:

I don't really watch it that much any more. I only watch NFL primetime to catch up on the plays of the day... but it is harder and harder to listen to Boomer and Jackson.

Excerpts:

Every year I hear John Madden say "Well I always say that when you are picking a favorite to win, you have to go with the team that won it the year before." I don't agree with that personally but I sure havne't heard his dumba$$ say it this year!

I know this chick locally who's a big steeler fan and she said Rothlisberger in the end when he retires will be known as being better than Marino.. She actually made the insinuation that Rothlisberger was a better QB as a rookie than Marino as a rookie.. rofl !!

Whats funny about that is she admitted she missed about 70% of his career because she started watching football like 11 years ago. lol

Those Steeler fans think everything should be glowing on them.. Laughable. I asked another steeler fan about the Miami game. He said they will cruise and beat us by 30.. I then asked, ok , is there any team out there than can beat the steelers on a given day ? He's like, what's a given day ? LOL .. The hardware their team lucked out in winning last season has clearly gone to their heads. Either that or they are banging their heads against something hard.. I say it's both ..

Well the officials surely glowed on them in the SB. Just ask Holgren. Madden and Michaels was talking about how that spoke volumes about the NFL and the officiating that Holgren wasn't fined for his " I thought we were playing Pitt I didn't know we were playing the guys in the stripes too" speech. Then they pointed out all the calls that made the Bus be able to go out like that. Pitt ain't sh**. That may have been where the hatred of Madden came in. The truth hurts and I hope the new commisioner gets a handle on the handing of SB's for feel good stories. I mean the tuck rule and snow plows first then the call BS to let a mediocre back like Bettis win in his home town.:shakeno: They nor the Pats deserve props IMO.

Well, Theisman isn't ESPN (is he?) and he said Ben just doesn't look right. As he goes, so go the Steerlers. So, I will wait til next Thursday to see how Ben looks when he's on the floor :)

Steeler fans are some of the worst out there IMO. They should be thankful they were handed the SuperBowl last year.

I heard from multiple sources that Rothlisberger is a real a-hole and most of the team can't stand him.. He's got some redneckness in him preachin' the harley life and some of the brothaz on the team resent it.. That's what I heard started the rift and it escalated from there..

If true, that's sad.. I hope the Miami D sticks his face into the turf.

The man that averages 14 passes a game is the way the Steelers go? I don't think so. Except for that tackle against indy that saved the win he sucked up the playoffs. Randle El was the best passer on the team and the only reason they scored in the playoffs except for my Carolina boy Parker. Nah Ben will either be their excuse or will benefit from a great surrounding team and coaches.

Yes, Theisman is with ESPN. Has been for awhile.

You are 100% correct on all counts. All because Steeler fans have a QB now who can complete a pass once in awhile (after the Charlie Batch , Mark Malone and Maddox experiments of 20 years gone wrong ) , they think Rothlisberger is better than Marino was. LOL !! .. Of all fans in the league able to judge QB's , they should be the last fans on the planet to do so considering their track record of a pitiful cast of QB's on that team over the last 20 yrs.

I meant that he hasn't look right since his motorcycle accident more than anything else. That and his weight loss should make for an interesting first game.

Yea, you're right. They won every year before Ben, and they won when he was hurt and they can win without him so they aren't worried if he plays for them? Huh? Okie dokie.

If you think Ben is the key to success for a team the runs the ball as much as they do and have a defense like they do than more power to ya.

That broken jaw crap needs to end. I had my jaw shattered to pieces and wired shut for 5 weeks( suppose to have been 6 but they gave me some clips incase of an emergency like vomiting) and not one day went by that I didn't play. That injurie has nothing to do with football and unless someone reaches their hand under a facemask for an uppercut it won't bother ****. BTW my jaw is reinforced with little links that look like bicicles links and is 50 times stronger than what it was. His injurie is nothing and is no excuse trust me. It pissses me off every time they mention him with Daunte and Palmer. If he can't come back from that or has any effects from it he is a *****.

Yeah as a matter of fact they did. The only reason they won the SB was because of controvery and a cheap shot to Palmer. Their D and Randle El along with Parkers emergence was the reason they won. Watch some football.
