Anyone notice how much tougher and more intimidating Pittsburgh's defense is than ours?
The Steelers LB's and DB's are just a group of vicious hitters. Of course, in that area they are probably the premier defense in the NFL. But, while our DB's stood around looking at each other in confusion after each pass completion, the Steelers, even on completions, were hammering pass receivers.
Another interesting facet of the game to me was the number of pass breakups on big hits. It seemed that even when Dolphin receivers were open, that the Steelers DB's and LB's were strategically situated on the play to make a big hit.
This is the one area I talked about a few days ago in terms of what things the Dolphins were missing - one of those was a big hitter or two in the secondary. Hopefully, as the DB's develop and learn the system more instinctively, the hitting will improve. But, I just don't see receivers feeling intimidated by running a crossing route into our D-Backfield. They will be that way when running in Pittsburgh's backfield.
