Pittsburgh ball at their 2-yard line. There’s 6:10 left. And the Dolphins defense gets run over.

Eighty-eight yards and five minutes and 30 seconds later, Pittsburgh kicks a field goal to seal the 30-24 win and underline there’s work to be done this Dolphins off-season.

The stinging bad news: The Dolphins ended their season with three straight losses.

For so much of the year, the big-play receiver was the No. 1 need.

But after the way this defense fell apart the second half of the year, the defensive-minded Parcells will have to look at this defense. The Dolphins got minimal play out of their linebackers – a calling card to most Parcells teams.

I mentioned that in another thread a half hour or so ago. Pittsburgh today made the Dolphins look like weaklings, identical to Wisconsin vs. the Canes last Tuesday.

The flashy players are a necessity if you want to win a championship but bottom line I'd love to have that Ohio State foundation every year -- barrel chested tough guys who hit and tackle. It makes you a contender every year.

I'm sick of the Miami teams looking so fragile. Pat White laying on the turf was scary, but mostly symbolic. I can't even imagine the Steelers scouting a guy like that.
