Profootballtalk is reporting that Dielman and Steinbach may already have deals that pay them 7 million a year and that Cleveland Houston and Dallas are the teams most interested. Hopefully this is not true, I was hoping the Dolphins wouls sign one of them The contracts are to be announced March 2

7 mill a year....pass

I doubt 7m a year. 6m a year sure...

i'm sick of not being able to land big free agents due to our salary cap...this has gotta stop.

One way would be to free up money. I am not saying nothign about JT or ZT, but wrong side of 30 getting major money. Not to mention CC is somethign like a 5.7 mil hit, and then CP is pretty big too. Lot of money tied up in older players. Not to mention LT money tied up in Shelton, who is now a gaurd.

Wouldnt have a problem really with letting go of CC and Cpep and Shelton. But not JT and ZT, they bring too much to our team. But the others we can most definitely replace, if necessary.

Completely understand. But at times you need to finally cut ties with a player for the money thing. Every teams does it. I mean 10 mil in cap space on a 30+ DE is high by any amount. I know he is amazing and an All-Pro. But if you want to get younger and have the cap space you need to start cutting ties instead of being married to them because they are a great heart for the team. It is not always welcomed, Heck look in Buff last year when they said goodbye to moulds. But sometimes it is necessary to keep improving

Yep this is true, I just dont think the time for letting ZT and JT go is really that imminent. Not now, they are by far and away the 2 best players on our team. Not now.

I am reading PFT and I dont see a mention of this news. Are you sure you have the right source ?

Somethign I seen from CryptKeeper, he normally is a realiable poster from what i have read.

From PFT:

DIELMAN, STEINBACH HAVE DEALS IN HAND?

Our sources in Indy tell us that two of the top offensive linemen in free agency might already have deals in place with new teams.

If their agents are to be believed.

Per the source, the agents for Bengals lineman Eric Steinbach and Chargers lineman Kris Dielman are telling people that they plan to sign contracts worth $7 million per year on March 2, or shortly thereafter.

The three teams who were thought to be most interested in either of these two guys are the Texans, Browns, and Cowboys.

Though it wouldn't be much of a surprise to learn that contracts have been verbally negotiated before the start of free agency (since it happens every single year), the other possibility is that the agents are puffing as to either or both of these players, in the hopes that someone else will offer as much or more.

Either way, make no mistake about it -- free agency officially begins in six days; unofficially, it's already started.

Dont find it suprising really. There are alot of teams out there with money to blow. The 49ers,Houston,and Cleveland to name a few.
