Stephen Ross' Leadership Setting Back Miami Dolphins

Ross is definitely willing to spend the money to try and fix these problems, and after what, 7 years as the owner he still has no clue what to do. Maybe he just needs to try and find somebody who knows what to do and sell the team to that person.

The article hits on some good points. I agree with the comment on the site, saying we shouldn't confuse loyalty with cowardice. I don't think Ross has much conviction to his decisions, they almost appear out of desperation, as though he's settling just to get it over with as painlessly as possible.
Why else would someone pride themselves in continuity when the product on the field hasn't been good enough from top to bottom for years in a row? He didn't want to make a change because he doesn't even know what he wants to change to.

I'll never understand the hate for this owner. He hires those that says these are the best football people. He gives them the full power to make decision and the money to get who they say are the best fit for this team. Oh and he doesn't interfere with those peoples Expertise...

How exactly is he this terrible owner again?

The two decisions that stick out most in my mind, are keeping Philbin around and more or less the same thing with Ireland (who he didn't even hire, so that should've been a no brainer termination). Honorable mention goes to the Sparano/Harbaugh debacle, but maybe that was just growing pains or getting bad advice, I really don't know.

This fan base deserved everything it gets. I hope the new owner is quick with the trigger, meddles and is tight with the pocket book.

Yes Ross opens his wallet, but to inept people. Continuing to back or support an owner cause he spends his money is not understanding what it takes to build a winner. Ross may have won in real estate but he's failing miserably in pro football

Who did Ross hire that was the best in football at anything? Very curious why any fan of this team would defend this dope

He's just throwing money at stuff and doesn't know what he's throwing it at. He's not finding what's right for Miami.

Ross runs this organization first and foremost as a business with the intent of turning a profit. This as opposed to running the Dolphins as a football team first, with deep culture and pride. Many of his decisions are based on this ideology and the people who stick around have to agree. Thus, we are left with a team that is breakable, don't get 100% out of our players and a culture of "just here to get a paycheck" performers...

Ross's "businessman mentality" has permeated this franchise and ruined it from the inside out.

Ross gave complete control and trust to Bill Parcels, a supposed guru of football and that got him where?

He tried to hire the hottest coach in football in Harbaugh, although extremely clumsily. And pursued another big name in Jeff Fisher. And have any of those guys panned out? Ones outta the league because he couldn't gel with management and one still can't get his team into the playoffs.

Ross is clumsy, but he opens his wallet and pursues the supposed to be big names.

Listen to fans of stingy owners who refuse to make changes and listen to ticket prices over fan needs. It could be a LOT worse.

Not to mention he payed for stadium upgrades himself. Honestly, this fan base is extremely spoiled. Whether it's Ross or Tannehill, this fan base is just as clueless as the team at times.

They'll never get it and they'll never admit it. Of course you wish that some of Mr.Ross decisions worked out. But you can never question the guys desire to want the best for this team and it's success.

Actually Parcells was in complete control already when Ross became majority owner.
The fan base is not spoiled unless you think 6 straight non winnigs seasons is something that should not be complained about.

This is one of the most historically craziest posts to ever hit this site. We as fans pay NFL salaries, pay millions of dollars to players and coaches and owners, and WE deserve to watch crappy football? Easily one of the craziest concepts to hit this site
