"The Miami Dolphins have added West Gennasee head coach Steve Bush to the staff. Steve Bush was Tony Sparano's defensive coordinator at New Haven, and he also coached with Paul Pasqualoni at Syracuse from 2000-2004.

Bush will be an offensive assistant for the Dolphins"

anyone have any reasoning behind why a past defensive coordinator would be an offensive assistant for us?

Why can't I land a gig like that? Seriously I'd do it for $50K

I want to be the assistant to the assitant this is getting lame.. Were hiring tons of old college head coaches for "assistant" positions this smells of the Nick Saban bring in a million coaches and pay em good..

Good old Boy Network is in full effect. Will these "assistant" help i dunno

I see your point, but you can't expect Parcells to have omniscient knowledge of the entire FO. He brought in his right hand men first, and at some point needs to trust them if they say, "Hey, I used to work with (whoever) and I really need this guy. He worked with me here and here and I can trust him to get the job done." He surrounded himself with people he knows and can trusts; shouldn't he offer that same situation to his coordinators?

Steve Bush was my HS football coach. Im pissed he took the job. He single handedly won us a State Championship this year. Had by far the most dynamic and unstoppable offense in the state. Primarily a spread passing system. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Oh and Im a Jets fan, so I look forward to posting a little more often ;)

And Its actually West Genesee. :)

Hey carter, how was he at teaching?? One of the things the Phins have been lacking in is the ability to get talent to play to their potential. So my question more would be- how is he at developing people?? Don't know if you can answer this but thanks anyway.

It's too bad you're a Jets fan, I might've actually liked you!:boohoo::wink:

A bush on the staff...hmmm... I hope no relationship to the man in the oval office, if so, we know he can't teach..LOL

Funny you asked. He did amazing this year with developing talent. In years past weve had some amazing athletes on the team, but could barely reach .500. This years group was sub-par at best, 1 or 2 players will keep playing in college. And he brought the best out in them, won a state championship.

Bush will be the coach that all the players will like, yet listen to.

Sounds good to me..I hope he works in the pro's like he did at your school..we need coaches who can develope and motivate players to play up to and beyond their potential.

Good coaches can coach anywhere.

Don Shula was the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions. Yet many were calling him the best QB coach in the league for the work he did with a rookie Marino.

Carter has explained this further for us.

Thanks Carter...... and apologies for the spelling snafu!
