We recently hired Steve Bush as our offensive quality control coach. My question is, what the heck does an offensive quality control coach actually do? :err:

i dont have that answer for you.

id assume he's primarily an assistant to the offensive co-ordinator though.

whoever it was last year though deserved to be canned, because there was definately no quality to our offence after RB went down.

He's basically scouting our offense for problems and is a guy who will recommend corrections etc. He's another eye to solely focus on those types of things.

Jason Garrett held that position with us before he was moved to qb;s coach, i know the quality control coach for the sabercats breaks down the film, prepares all the qb's notes and pretty much gophers for the OC.

So noone knows? Hope its not just a waste of a coach

who cares.....I don't care if his sole role is to get the offensive staff coffee and donuts and they pay him $1million per year. It's not like he counts against the cap.

EDIT - not saying who cares to the original question....good question. Just who cares whether he's a waste or not.

Are you sure he isn't in a padded room right now? After watching game tape of the Dolphins in 2007 I think I would be.

Yea seriously. He's probably got the jacket on, sitting in a chair with his legs tied down watching Dolphins highlights from last year. Talk about depressing...

Just worries me that we have too many people involved on the coaching staff. Always thought that was a probably when Saban had like 150 people on his staff. I hope Miami doesn't do the same thing where their asst. coaches each have asst. as well.

He's a film gopher.

He organizes all the game tape based on the situation...1st and 10...3rd and 2... and then charts what the other team runs in those situations. he also helps grade out the dolphin players performance...basically it's a graduate assistant position for players who switch to coaching. He also might be the "turk". He's the guy that grabs players and their playbook when they get cut/traded. It all depends. Either way it introduces guys to the coaching part of the game... he also prolly will help out at practice with the RB's/TE's or with the ST's coach...he's a gopher!
