just askin what happened to him he was expected like last year to go first round i dont even think teams r gonna take him first day! anyone know when hes projected i liked him in college? not for the dolphins unless he slips to 6th or 7th for some unknown reason just wanna know about the player

Has the speed to be similar to Randal El in the NFL, but teams are shying away because of his small frame.... It may be possible in the later rounds! I think Slaton has exceptional speed and talent that you can't teach.

He didnt do anything special at the combine i think that hurt him. Ran a 4.4 i think.. but people think he is too small to carry the load but i love the guy. I think he should of stayed back but probably a 4th or 5th rounder this year id say

Slaton could be moved to WR imo. and it probably would be in his best interest.

What happened to Steve Slaton? Nagging injuries and a drop in contribution the second half of West Virginia's season. Slaton rushed for over 100 yards only once in the last six games and his yards per carry dropped from 7.0 ypc in 2006 to 5.0 in 2007.

Slaton was a STUD when he was younger but dropped off last year. Even still, he had 18 total TD's and 1300+ all purpose yards... The reason.... Patrick White.... the QB himself ran for 1,300 plus yards...

Had Slaton been featured as much last year as he was his Soph. year, he would have had nubmers that were just as gaudy. I love the kid and I'd be thrilled with nabbing him late... I'm actually shocked that there's been NO talk about him at all. I know he didn't impress at the combine... but what DOES impress me is his nose for the endzone... 18+ TD's and 5.9 yards per each of his 3 years.

spread offense + option attack = gaudy #s from damn near anyone with speed.

I went to West Virginia and have watched all of their games for the past several years (some in person!) so I've probably seen more of Slaton than most on here...

I would compare him as a pro to Lorenzo Booker (I actually think he's a little more talented than Booker, but maybe that's because I'm a huge West Virginia fan)...

He'll probably go in the 4th or 5th this year...

As a WVU fan, I'd love to see any of the Mountaineers drafted by Miami:

Slaton in the 5th to push Booker -- 3rd down back or H-back -type role running routes out of the back field...

Owen Schmitt in the 4th to challenge (and probably beat) Reagan Maui for FB

Or Johnny Dingle in the 7th for depth at DE...

If there is one guy who has zero place on the Miami Dolphins it is Johnny Dingle. He's too slow for OLB and hes too small for DE.

We already have a more productive higher skilled version of Steve Slaton in Lorenzo Booker

I live about 20 minutes from Morgantown where SUPER Steve Slaton played his college ball. He 100% reminds me of Willie Parker. He is a one cut and go runner with blinding field speed. I say that b/c he only ran in the 4.4's at the combine. He plays a lot faster than that. He is an awesome football player. He could be good in the right offense.

slaton reminds me or mewalde moore. good speed, shifty runner, smallish, but soft as a cushion.
