Steve Smith

if we traded for him they would want a lot, but if hes cheap i would get him in a heart beat

What do you mean take him?????????????? If you are asking about Steve Smith from Carolina, he is suspended for the first two games. He's still on Carolina's roster. If you are talking about Steve Smith with the Giants, as far as I know, he is still on the Giants roster.

Should the Phins take him? I sure wouldn't mind!

Do you mean Steve Smith from the Panthers? He's getting a 2 game suspension. But he's still with Carolina.
If you're talking about a different Steve Smith, then my bad.

Sure. While we're at it, let's grab Peyton Manning, Brian Urlacher, Asante Samuels, and LT; just in case...

"Take him"

Makes it sound like he's just there for the grabbing. Dude is one of the best in the league. He aint going anywhere.

Yes i'm talking about a trade. Seems like his days are numbered in Carolina. Someone might could get him cheap. I don't think Fox will put up with him much longer.

I was thinking that myself. Steve Smith is the best WR in the game today. He is quick and can catch anything thrown to him. The highlights and stats don't lie. The Panthers would want a lot for him, but he's worth it.

Why are his "days in Carolina numbered?" Just because he got into training camp scrap?

he is by far carolinas best receiver and they would be very dumb if the would trade him just because he got into a training camp fight..
everybody knows that smith has problems to hold his temper in the game and off the field..
he already got into 2 fights where he beat someone up..and in one case the player who he beat filed charges against him but carolina did not cut him..

so it is very very unlikely that the panthers will trade him..he is plain and simple their best receiver..

You guys are right, let's go after Smith. While we're at it, let's go after LT because his days are numbered, too, especially after the pushing and shoving he did against the Patriots when they made fun of Merriman. Please, let's be realistic.

WOODY: this is why the finz have NO talent on the roster.

the finz have REFUSED to pay for REAL talent for YEARS!!

when guys like steve smith come available [and he wont],
you have to pay! that is the market, like it or not.

but the finz, and even a lot of the fans INSIST we can get
pro bowl qb's, wr's, lt's and db's in the 7th round or cast off
free agents whom we can groom to do it and pay the leauge
minimum.

when a player is young, or just in there prime, regulars in the
pro bowl and usually tops in numbers at there position, YOU
PAY THEM!!!!

but, again, this is why the cupboard is bare.

This was more than a training camp scrap and not his first assult of a teammate.

In 2002, Smith was suspended for a game after punching teammate Anthony Bright during a film session, and received counseling for anger management.

He waited until offense and defense left the field and special teams were going thru their plays and waited until Ken Lucas took off his helmet then punched him out.

It may have been related to a play on the field but this incident happened on the sidelines.

Totally uncalled for, very unprofessional and this was a teammate he assulted.
The suspension is expected to cost Smith $205,882, the pro-rated portion of his $1.75 million annual salary covering two games

You're right...he definitely has a track record with this type of stuff as well. However, I think his days in Carolina are far from "being numbered."
