Stiff Arming Football Myths

yeah, tebow couldn't even beat out a backup qb, that was starting, in sanchez...who is now a backup on another team. Tebow can not play QB in the NFL.

Don't really agree with #15. Sure in fantasy football RBs are still pretty important, but take a look around. In the most recent draft, wasn't the first back not taken until something like the 50s or 60s? You would be a fool to take a RB in the 1st round anymore. Look at how the RB free agent market dried up this offseason. Look at all the recent rule changes that have geared the entire league towards pass-happy, high-flying offenses. DBs can't do anything anymore. Even though it's been a rule for a while, you get spot fouls for defensive PI which I personally think is ludicrous. It's incredibly difficult for officials to call correctly and they do get it wrong quite a bit. Dolphins fans saw this all to often last season. The league has so obviously gone to great lengths to protect QBs to the point where you can't even breathe on them anymore. If a guy's hand so much as grazes his helmet while trying to knock down a pass or he stumbles at his knees because he's trying to get a sack, he gets flagged. Where are these protections/favorable rules for the running game?

Does anyone actually subscribe to the philosophy of "establishing the run" anymore? Did anyone even care when Peyton Manning or Drew Brees recently broke single-season passing records? Marino held the TD record at 48 for 20 years. Since then, it's been broken 3 times in 10 years. Adrian Peterson came close to Dickerson's rushing record, but I don't think you're going to see that happen again. If it doesn't light up the scoreboard, the NFL is not interested.

Really? Then why isn't he a starting quarterback in the NFL? Or a back up for that matter. If he could be a good quarterback he would still be in the league.

Not necessarily. He has proven at the very least he is capable of being on an NFL roster. There are several players masquerading as starters in the league right now who are not even worthy of a roster spot.

There is no reason Tim Tebow isnt good enough to be in the NFL. The problem is that he has desires to be a starter, is very vocal, is a true leader, and has a way of drawing teammates to him that can cause a divide in the locker room and amongst the fan base. Because of this I believe teams steer clear of him. Id like to see him given a chance somewhere though.

#8 is not a myth. Sure there are exceptions, but very few. I mean I would lay money down that if Lebron wanted to come to the NFL and play TE he could do it, but there are very few exceptions.

PSA: Everybody would benefit from getting some knowledge from Emory, whether it's from this book or his website.

Did you mean to say "50. TIM TEBOW CAN BE A NFL QUARTERBACK" ???? Tim Tebow is bad... like really bad. I'd take Geno Smith over him and that's not saying much. Even Mark Sanchez

Guess you didn't follow last season, where the two best teams in the NFL were run-first teams (Seattle, SF).

You know some mouth breather is gonna say its because the NFL is black balling him for being a Christian, when the vast majority of NFL players are Christian.

#5 - The SEC Produces The Best NFL Players

A very strong argument can be made that the SEC produces the best NFL players, but there is no argument when it comes to which conference produces the most NFL ready players. It's the SEC in a landslide.

An SEC player has won either Offensive Rookie of the Year or Defensive Rookie of the year 16 of the last 24 years, going all the way back to Derrick Thomas in 1989. That's only winners.... without mentioning all of the other top candidates for the award that finished 2nd or 3rd that were also from the SEC, and were also deserving of the award.

I don't know what your book has to say about this, but if it's not the SEC.... I'd like to know which conference produces better NFL players.

I don't think it is because he is a Christian but because of the circus that follows him. It is a distraction waiting to happen. He is more than capable of being a good backup but is not worth the chaos that comes with him.
