I don't think it is because he is a Christian but because of the circus that follows him. It is a distraction waiting to happen. He is more than capable of being a good backup but is not worth the chaos that comes with him.

You cant convince me there arent a handful of players who are starting right now at QB who Tebow isnt better than. He is most certainly better than at least half of the backups as well. Tebow is better than any QB the Jests currently have on their roster.

Obviously not. He would still be with the Jets if he was better than any QB the Jets have, or HAD, in this case. Just face facts, Tebow is not an NFL caliber quarterback or even a back up quarterback. If he can ever get back into the NFL, then the fact will change. Until then it is undeniable FACT.

He is worth a backup roll to say the least. The team that comes to mind where he should be is Seattle, I'd take him over Pryor or Jackson, you could also make the case that the 49's would be better with him as a backup.

But, the problem is that youre assuming myth #8 in the OP that this thread is about. Not all of the best players play in the NFL. There are plenty of guys out there who could play in the NFL if they wanted and had the opportunity to do so. Tim Tebow is one of them. No team will give him the opportunity and it isnt because of talent. He has enough talent to play. He is better than plenty of QBs who are on NFL rosters and a handful of those actually start for NFL teams.

Aside from the fact that Sparano was his OC if Tebow had been given an opportunity with the Jets I think he could have done ok, that was the perfect situation for him. Just don't turn it over, keep it close and let Tebow do his thing the final 5 minutes.

Still your press circus defense for Tebow doesn't hold water. I mean if teams wanted to avoid press, of any kind, then Micheal Vick wouldn't be in the league right now would he?

Not only is Vick back in the NFL after committing some very bad things, he is playing the same position he played when he entered the NFL. So if NFL teams can handle the media circus of a convicted criminal, I'm pretty sure they can handle the media circus for a do-gooder like Tebow. Obviously there is something other than the notion of a media circus keeping Tebow out of football, not just the NFL.

There are quite a few interesting myths in there. Some of them I take issue with, but that's normal.

The one that intrigues me the most is #37 It's a myth that "you develop as a pro". Clearly, this isn't true to say nobody improves as a result of pro training. But the guys who were great going in are not likely to get a whole ton better, but are likely to stay great when they're in the pros. Maybe that's what Emory and co. are setting out to say.

This takes us back to the theme a lot of us have been harping on viz the Dolphins - we don't bring in enough "great" draftees. Though, you'd have to say that some of the OK players we drafted are now significantly better than they were, so there's clearly development there.

Those are some pretty numbers. Such good numbers it should mean Tebow should still be in the NFL. One sec while I check to see which team he plays for. Got it right here, team ESPN.

Numbers never tell the entire story. If teams thought he was good enough to be an NFL quarterback in the league he would be on someone's roster, but he isn't. So there has to be a reason why he hasn't been signed. There are only two reasons why he isn't on an NFL team. One is the league must not think he has what it takes to succeed at the pro level as a quarterback. The other reason is Tebow's pride. I am sure he'd be in the league if he tried for a different position. Unfortunately he refuses to try for a different position because he can't swallow that pride. His pride is probably the real reason he isn't a back up quarterback either.

Had McCoy not changed the scheme of Denver's offense to a more college style offense, Tebow would have failed. Tebow has not proven he can play in an NFL style system yet. If he can get back in the league as a quarterback and succeed then I will admit I am wrong. In the mean time he is not NFL quarterback material.

Yeah I wouldn't bet against him if a team decided to go "all in" and build a team around him, it is a big risk though. its the age old debate between intangibles vs measurables. Tebow has the intangibles of the greats but obviously doesn't have the measurables. Tannehill has the measurables of the greats but does he have the intangibles? And if you could only have one of the two which is more important?

Not really. Tebow has had ONE successful season. Forget that McCoy is the reason Tebow had that one good season. If Tebow was as good as everyone says or thinks he is he should have had no problem proving that in New York or in New England. Matter of fact. If he was so great then Denver would never have courted Manning.
