Still almost 30 million in Cap.

I would like to see Miami spend a big chunk of the cap on a 2-3 year deal with either DRC or Revis. Front load the contract for this year that allows Miami to have a more manageable cap number in year two and three.

Not sold on our Rookie CB's from last year. I am worried about our depth at CB from #2-#4 right now. Miami will need to roll over 10+ to help with the extensions next year and a couple large contracts already on the book, even with the cap expected to possibly hit 150 mil.

Still have three holes on the O-line, still need a DT, still need an RB, depth at CB, depth at LB, backups at OL, a full draft worth of contracts. Dont jump the gun that 40 million isnt spent day 1. Aponte structures most deals the same and looks forward to see what possible cap situations are in the future and has kept a good cap situations so far.

Why do people want players who are not scheme fits? DRC and Revis are press man to man cornerbacks completely unlike Grimes. Tillman from CHi and Graham from Balt would be ideal corners for our defense. Again don't force pieces in where they don't fit, especially when they would take huge chunks out of our cap.

I'd pay for Revis. We won't get him I know, but he will be a Patriot by weeks end.

With all this cap left I still don't know what the hell Miami is doing.

Why hey structure deal that way of you don't have any more big signings. Doesn't make sense IMO.

How can we still have that much cap left , after we pay Albert , Grimes around 9 mil ,Delmas 2-3 mil and Mitchell 4 mil per ? we only had around 39 mil and Albert took 9 mil ? from what im adding up we should be around 15 mil left , please confirm ...

Cap's more complicated than that... Contracts are backloaded so the hit's smaller year 1. Plus we cut Patterson

Shelley Smith LG
Breno Giacomini RT
Jon Beason MLB
Captain Munnerlyn CB2
Anthony Dixon RB
Garrett Graham TE

And we're ready for BPA in the draft

Cleveland is spending like crazy, throw a offer out for Mack, see what happens then move Pouncy to guard or trade him. They know Mack wants out

Miami should get in and run up the cost for the Pats.

Bucs have said they might cut Revis tomorrow.

So then NE has to spend big bucks on a guy who had a serious knee injury. love it. They will have to spend more than they want to get him. No longer scared of Revis. I actually think Grimes is now better.

This would tighten up NE salary cap in a hurry. They have to come out of it negotiating for something pricey that BB does not like at all. Revis wouldnt be long in NE IMO. BB would just end up trading him a year or two later. Its the MO of that guy.

And we will need it, plenty of giant holes to fill

Dont kid yourself, Revis is still really really good. I would love him on our team but his $$ are just to outrageous.

Free agency is a multi-phase process. The first couple of days are when teams throw mad money at their most critical needs and valued targets. After that, most free agents are still on the market, teams re-value who is available, and prices come down quite a bit. Having $24 million in cap space (I'm setting aside the space we'll need for our draft pool) to use in Phase II will stretch a long way.
