1. why did saban hire mularky in the first place?

2. why won't nick take his medicine and relieve mike of his playcalling duties?

1. Because Linehan left, we needed someone to replace him, and Mularkey has a good history in the role of OC.

2. The same reason he didn't relieve Linehan after 4 games into the 2005 season. You know, when everyone was calling for Linehan's head.

You still beleive in Murlarkey, OK!! i can go with that, but you know that we are in dip trouble now. We need to win these next 2 game, after that a lost would not be that bad, but we can not loss any of the next 2 games, for now. GO DOLPHINS!! :dolphins:

He does? One year in Pitt makes you a good OC?

Ask any Pitt or Buff fan and they'll let you know how incorrect you are.

I don't believe in Mularkey. I believe that at the time he was hired, it was a justified decision.

There is a difference between being qualified for a job and not working out once you get that job.

Two years, actually. 2003 by all appearances was a fluke, because Pittsburgh plummeted from having the #5 offense from having the #22 offense. Falling from #5 to #22 in one year signals problems not related to the OC, all else being constant.

Pittsburgh fans hate Mularkey because he doesn't use a smashmouth offense. Buffalo fans hate Mularkey because he sucks as a Head Coach. We didn't hire Mularkey as a Head Coach, last I checked.

And yes, there is a difference between being a successful Head Coach and a successful Offensive Coordinator, just as there's a difference between being a successful college HC and a successful NFL HC.

They should have went after Martz, its more like Linehans offense even though Martz doesn't run nearly enough.

Thanks for conceding the debate.
I've learned a long time ago here, you can't debate people here who can't comprehend. the intelligent folks will read our two sides and know the truth.

and 2 years out of his entire career is still terrible anyway, so I'll give you the extra year.

Because as hard as it is for the "Saban is God" crowd to admit, Nick made a mistake!

we barely run now, what would be the difference

evidently when mularkey quit rather than be fired it made him a man of integrity which justified ( with no logic) his hiring by the nicktator
