In my opinion Tannehills contract is pretty much right where it should be...hes paid less than the superstars but more than guys like Cutler, Bradford, Stafford, Dalton, Smith, and Romo. I didnt have any problem with the contract at the time it was signed but i know alot of people were mad about it and bitched and moaned that he hasnt proven hes worth that kinda money. Some of these posters still bring up his contract. QBs just make ridiculous money. I mean Brock Osweiler and Tyrod Taylor are making 18m per year. I was stunned Glennon is getting 14.5-15 million per year. Cousins got tagged and is making almost 24 million for the year which is absurd.

Im just saying, Tannehill got a fair contract based on what the market dictates. I dont think theres any arguing that at this point.

Nope, no argument. Now let's just pray he is 100% healthy.

I agree, his contract is exactly where it is supposed to be. Imagine if he were to hit the open market. He'd likely get paid what Kirk Cousins is getting paid.

Its funny to see Carr and Prescott at the bottom, they wont be for long.

Prescott still has 3 years left before he hits the market, Carr on the other hand is a free agent next season.

I don't remember having a problem with Tannehill's contract, but unless all of them signed their contract in the same year, comparisons don't make much sense unless you are a math wiz and can account for inflation, rising salary caps, etc.

The total money agreed to in contracts (not guaranteed, overall money) for qbs currently under contract equals $2,051,313,571. Theres $823,823,927 in guaranteed money. Thats just crazy.

I wasnt calling anyone out. I just remember people throwing hissy fits about it when it his deal was announced. Regardless of year it was signed...hes right in line with where he should be in average salary based on the guys ahead of him and behind him on that list.

Ok so we didn't get a bargain. We didn't get ripped off either. If Gase has confidence in him then it's good enough for me.

Much like people throw hissy fits anytime we re-sign somebody (and when we DON'T re-sign somebody). These salary comparisons inevitably come up and they just don't make much sense to me.

I hear ya. I saw some people a few weeks ago saying that we need to resign our own players then when we did they complained about the amount of money. Sometimes you overpay for a guy and sometimes you get a bargain on one, but more times than not a team winds up overpaying (ex. Osweiler).

His pay is just where it should be. I can still foresee a restructure/extension soon. They should stay ahead of that comp so we aren't stuck in a few years overpaying or in cap hell.

In hindsight, with the current Kirk Cousins fiasco and the salaries you listed, we aced Tannehill's contract.
