This is just a random fin fan I follow on twitter but he seems to know his stuff, man I was fear losing Kenny but if this is true which I hope it is this shows he wants to be in miami because he would get a lot more on open market.
 
$6.5 million a year would be fantastic! A penny over $7.5 million and I'd prefer to pass...
 
He definitely wouldn't get A LOT more. He could see up to $8.5mil/year probably but without necessarily high guarantees. ****, if he puts up 9-10 TD's a year, I wouldn't mind an incentive laden contract that took him to $8-9mil.

If we get him at $6.5 that is very fair value for both sides.

His agent knows what other teams might offer. They all talk way before free agency. He's in a situation in Miami.

I'm skeptical of the rumor.

If it deems true, that'd be a very nice deal for the Dolphins to keep him.
 
I find it very hard to believe that he'd sign a 6.5 million per season with us when he could more than likely get at least 8 million or more per year in free agency.
 
too me it seems like stills is not all about the money, he does drive a old vw van with no ac in south beach, I think he really does like his coach and the players, he is playing with, just my thoughts though
 
While skepticism of this rumor is valid. What I see, if this were to become reality, is one, it's a great deal for the team yet fair to stills, and even more importantly it shows a true belief in the staff and what we have brewing. When players can enter FA and likely get money thrown at them from cap excess teams yet signs a team friendly deal short of FA really gets me excited about the culture change and winning expectations throughout the staff and PLAYERS.
