Stockar McDougle just another example of us signing a promising free agent o-lineman to have them basically suck. Stockar is the absoulute worst, when he gets in their nothing but penalties
John St.Claire, Jeno James, Daman McIntosh, all came from top runnig offensive teams, ( Rams Chargers) and come here and forget how to block, this is beyond me, what do you all think

Promising? Stockar took a pay cut to sign here, and he got a 1-year deal. Basically he's getting a year to prove he's still a starter in this league. What we HAVEn't done for the past 5 years is sign someone who's REALLY promising.

these guys blocked for backs like LT and Marshall, they must have done something right

Yeah. And also, you have to remember that the FA market is 'buyer beware' even with the top talent. Normally teams, even the bad ones, dont allow their top talent to go. They'll let the over rated talent leave, but will keep the really good ones locked up until they are past their prime.

It comes down to develop your own talent and be very picky about who you bring in through FA. I think we are going to do that now.

Yeah but their teams felt comfortable enough letting them go. That's gotta say something. When we tried to get Olin Kreutz the Bears countered and didn't let him go.

This line is playing a lot better than I thought it would, EXCEPT for the penalties. I think it's just the product of a new system and playing with new people. It will take a little while to adjust.

Maybe they didn't do much right and that is why LT and Marshall are regarded so highly? A lot more goes into it then just one or two OL. There are 5 OL, a FB, TE and sometimes the WRs even play a big part in blocking for the run game.

I thought Kruetz actually chose to stay in Chicago because he didn't want to move his family and was generally happy there.

I 100% agree

The Chargers were not a good offensive team when McIntosh played for them... The last year he played for them... they ended up gettin the first overall pick...

Nasty

The Bears's signing bonus was a few million less, and Kreutz stayed for the reasons you mentioned, but they anted up pretty well with a long-term contract. They didn't just let him walk out the door.

This O-line isn't as bad as people are saying it is. It has improved so much it's almost rediculous, and Stockar has actually done a pretty good job when he's been in there.

Hang ooooooooon! You just dissed an O line that has given up like three sacks in four games. Not too shabby. To top if off, they are coming around with the running game in a way that none of us anticipated last year. Are you even watching the same team? Yes the penalties are aggravating as hades, but let's not throw out the baby with the bath water. Jees, you guys are impossible.
