Gus is what he is people. We all know this. How long have you known that Gus simply is NOT a QB you can rely on for crucial yardage??

How many times do you have to see him miss an open receiver before you realize that in those situations you do NOT PUT THE DAMN BALL IN HIS HANDS??!!!!

Its like gambling...do you take the easy money or keep going for the long odds that hit once every other month??

Scott Linehan and his playcalling is the reason we lost this game. Not Gus. We KNOW Gus is not the type of QB to make those plays....look at his recent history here, he has NOT made those kind of plays when we needed them most, so WHY ATTEMPT IT?

Your running backs are averaging 5+ yards a carry. A blind man could see that we were gashing their defensive front 7-8-9 men for 5+ yards almost every carry! Why not use that until it doesn't work anymore?

Fire Scott Linehan and this offense will improve.
Getting rid of Gus should be secondary because Scott will ruin any QB that isn't top 5!!

i agree kind of, bad call on 3rd and 2, trying to catch the falcs off guard with a pass, but u as a coach have to put your team in the best position to win, and that was 2 downs to run for 2 yards... Frerrotte could have looked elsewhere though, or tried to take off

I can see your point to an extent. But Linehan is not out on the field making bad throws. He can only call the plays - it's up to the players to execute them. Unfortunately he did a poor job of playcalling today.

It's part play calling, but face it Gus is just not that accurate, he tends to overthrow and underthrow on his passes, a receiver getting hit in stride is a thing of beauty, too bad we dont get to see it.

I, as everyone else agrees, would have rather seen a run there. But it was not a terrible call. We had been running well. They knew we were in 4 down terrotiry, so we should run here. Why not PA and take a shot? It was a horrible decision on gus's part. Throw the ball away, take a shot in the endzone, DON'T LOSE THE GAME ON A BONEHEAD DECISION!!!!

The other problem? RnR were both in. When they were both in we passed the ball 90% of the time. Kinda tips the defense to pass dosn't it?

Yeah, and every single week we ALL in unison agree to the same thing...Gus is NOT THAT ACCURATE....and also, we ALL agree that our running game is our offensive strength.

Just think for yourself personally. In life if you need something done in a crucial moment...are you going to rely on a surefire way of getting it done or utilize a method that has failed repeatedly in the past?

Nice post in that we should be trying to run the ball with 4 yards or less for the first down instead of throwing the ball. Put the ball in your play makers hands. Ricky and Ronnie!

when youre crucial yardage is 2 yards then it is the qbs fault we werent asking for 13 yards.

The odds and history are totally against you. You still call that play?
Please do tell why you would rather try a silly gamble during a crucial situation when you have a surefire way of getting that 1st down??

Why gamble there? It makes no sense whatsoever! :shakeno:

I'll keep blaming Gus if I want, and that's what I'll do! :nana:  But seriously, Gus does get most of the blame along with Scott. It just seems like he's a waste of oxygen out there, man. He can't hit the ocean if he was out on a boat (or something like that). He either overthrows his receiver or locks in to a receiver giving the D a chance to read the play.

This guy is old and washed up, let's face it. His passing game isn't what it used to be...and it wasn't much to begin with. I seriously hope he's gone at the end of this season. If we don't get rid of him by the end of this season, heads need to roll.

We can gamble....but when we're AHEAD. We haven't been ahead most of the season, though. We always seem to be behind and can't catch up. Scott needs to smart up and realize this or he should take the next flight out with Gus as well.

The bottom line is that we're not getting decent play out of our QB position. The guy was brought in here because he was familiar with the system and Frerotte has been given every opportunity to win this job and he has done nothing to make us believe that it was the right move and the best move. If we're a rebuilding team, I'd rather rebuild w/ a QB who may be here after this year to see if he has anything for the future. Who knows, if Sage is the QB, maybe Saban/Linehan will call for more running plays. When you consider the fact that the running game has been very good yet Frerotte is still playing horribly, a change must be in order.

3 words....We're no Minny. We don't need to get rid of him....it's all emotions in the heat of the battle. We're all frustrated with the team play right now. People will calm down and cooler head will prevail. BUT if he doesn't shape up with his playcalling soon, his leash should be shortened.

In our offense does Gus have the go ahead to call audibles? Because if he does a vet QB should be able to "go with whats working" and switch to a run play.
