This topic comes up at least once a week from people who think they have this brilliant idea, but has been posted a thousand times already and a team was made fun of a few years ago for doing it. Do you really think the draft picks agent will say "oh well since you had the first pick, but forgot to draft until the 4th pick I guess you only have to pay us 4th pick money." NOT SO MUCH. It will still be demanded of us to pay top dollar (see Quinn, E Manning, etc...) This is neither a bright move or an original idea so stop these once a week posts. Mods you should either sticky this post or make one of your own to sticky to stop this nonsense. With like a month and a half until the draft, there will be like 6 or 7 more of these, please make them stop.

(sorry didn't realize i posted in the wrong forum and don't know how to change it in the edit function)

Besides why would you want your favourite team to look sooooooooo stupid. Leave that to the Minnesota fans. Man up, make your best pick and move on. I don't understand this " I don't want to pay big bucks to a rookie" , if you do your homework and make the right selection the contract usually fits the bill. If you let college careers be the best judge than I don't see how you can go wrong with either Long. After drafting well and having a great off-season you shouldn't have to worry about selecting 1st overall again.

i have also heard it A LOT. I got on this guys case one because he htought it would be such a great idea and it is a stupid idea. if you dont make your pick within your 10 minute time period (use to be 15 but now 10 i think) then you lose the pick. you dont move down a pick.

You don't lose your pick, your allowed to still make your selection. It happened to Minnesota with Tice I believe, when you finally make your selection it's still put in the slot you were suppose to pick at. The only thing you can't do is select anyone who now got picked after you messed up. So say you pick 15th, you finally make up your mind at 18 the guys picked at 16 and 17 are considered off the board.

yeah, this is foolishness. NFL agents (erhem Drew Rosenhaus in paticular) are worse than trying to make a deal with the godfather. i hope that we can trade down too, but it doesnt look likely, so stop the nonsense about skipping the pick.
