I am sick of seeing people questioning if rookies and 2 year players are already flops. Give these guys some time to play and learn the game. If their not cutting it after 3-4 years then you can judge them, but please, after 1 game just save it. Theres too many people saying "Ronnie Brown should have never of been picked that high," Well how do you figure? He hasn't even had a full season under his belt where he carried the full load. In my eyes, he did pretty well against Pitts run defense, our line didnt give him anywhere to run and he still fought for some yds on some plays.

The people who say things like that are only saying it to make people like you angry.

What is the problem with questioning the picks? People rate drafts the day after they occur. When you draft a player with the second overall pick you expect greatness. Many expected a Faulk or LT type player, and we havn't seen that kind of production from Ronnie Brown. Personally I think the talent is there, but am still far from convinced that he was the best player that could of been chosen at that position.

It is not the questioning of picks because most will have a player that they wished the team had drafted, it's the calling or thinking a player is a bust after only one or two seasons.

Exactky and thats a bad line of thinking.

Actually, since the average NFL career is like 4-5 years, year 2 seems relevant. Some players develop late, some never at all. Regardless, talking about it shouldn't be so offensive.

What was LJ's numbers yesterday? His first game was not crazy. Ronnie is going to be fine. We played the toughest D this season already, and he had 2 TD's. Thats half of the amount he had last season. Patsies ran all over Buffalo, Ronnie should have a 100+ game.

The responce was meant to be to this question:

The concern with Brown's draft position is a legitimate one, and one that deserves to be addressed.

The problem is that the analysis is premature. How do you know Ronnie Brown couldn't have produced a 1300-1400 yd season last year? He was never given the chance.
At one point before RW started hitting his groove, RB was on pace to gain 1300 yds. That's pretty darn good for a rookie.

Don't read the posts. They are entitled to their own opinion. Simple as that. Who knows, maybe ronnie is a bust? From 'his' point of view ronnie is, and from yours he isn't. Whos expert opinion shall we take. NEITHER, becasue you are both stating as previously mentioned an opinion, which only the future will dictate who is correct.

How do you know that if he was given the chance he would've? It goes both ways. And don't give me this YPC bs. He got those yards per carry splitting with Ricky, meaning he stood healty and fresh. You sir, are premature yourself.

BTW, I support Ronnie 100%. :D

Stats mean next to nothing, and that wasnt the intented connotation of the word production. LT didn't blow anyone away with his box scores in his rookie year, but when you watched him run you knew he was a great running back. You just dont see that in Brown. Great reciever, great blocker yes....great RB certainly not yet. And it is worrysome because with most great runningbacks you know from the minute they start in this league that they are special. Just look at Bush. He is a unique talent and barring injuries or other catastrophies will be a great RB.
