All you doom and gloom guys need to stop posting. Since you have decided the season is already over, stop wasting your time and our time. I think we lost the first game last year didnt we? How did it turn out? Give us something worth discussing rather than he sucks and should get cut stuff, chill out.

Defense looked good and you dont win with 4 turnovers! Our offense had momentum at times and lost it with those turn overs. We were dominated in the field position game, our special teams are horrible! We started deep in our territory and they started around the 50 alot and that equals a loss no matter what, good defense or not. Then you throw in 4 turn overs on top of that, no team is going to win that way.
 
I love it lol. From both sides I love it. I love the doom and gloom side and I love the overly optimistic side. It's great. People become prsioners of the moment after something like this and they blow up for both good and bad. Talk to me on Thursday when this game is on the back burner and people are a bit more rational. The doom and gloom crew will be a bit more chill and the overly optimistic will begin to understand what this team is.

You are completely right, people seem to go nutty after win or loss, One day Pennington is the best and blah blah blah , next min he is the reincarnation of Jay Fiedler lmao.

Your right when thursday rolls around everything shall level out again.

That being said, Atlanta is a good ball club. We cant win football games with over 3 turnovers a game, its not gonna happen. Dont fret kiddies i bet the WHOLE fins locker room got an ear full after that game and will be paying for it ALLLLLL week long.

There's more panic this year compared to last year as expectations are higher and last year's team wasn't expected to do much.
 
So if I say I expect the Phins to go 8-8 or 9-7, am I a doom and gloom guy? Ive been down this road so many times, and it ends the same. Even if Im right, the fanboys will tell me how them predicting 12-4 proves they are real fans. How do you reason with a person like that? To me its quite obvious the Phins are ripe for a step back record wise this year. In fact, anyone who watched the game would have seen the graph they put up. Teams that improved by 10 wins or more, and what they did the following year. All but one took a step back the following year.

Every year a team surprises. Then expectations get raised too high, and people get disappointed. Look at New Orleans a few years back. Came out of nowhere, then struggled. We all knew they had no defense, and it caught up with them. Well, most of us know the Phins have a popgun offense, and have to play a near perfect game to win. The reality is, against the competition we face this year, we wont play perfect games. The Phins arent equipped talent wise to overcome that.

The fans have higher expectations. Notice how the FO really didnt make any big name signings? Think about that. Perhaps its because they realize we are stil lbuilding, and arent jumping the gun like some. Just a thought.

It's not all doom and gloom....just a healthy dose of reality for a few folks around here....and there's more to come....

Hell...I've been trying to tell people for 2 months around here that Miami was going to lose this game...

That just because you shut down Michael Turner and force Matt Ryan to beat isn't chalking up a W in the win column....

That visions of Miami's overrated, geriatric pass rush making Matt Ryan and that offense look like fools was homerism at it's finest....

That Miami wasn't just going to line up and rush for 300 yards because it's the "Falcons defense"....

That this was a poor matchup for Miami....period...

However, I do have them beating the Colts next week....still doesn't matter though.....

History repeats itself as Parcells walks away after restoring yet another franchise to .500 glory....
 
I said months ago that this is an 8 - 8 team and my "fanhood" was brought into question. I can see what this team really is. It's not hard to see it. It sucks, but it's reality. We not what we'd like to be this season but we are moving in the right direction. At the end of this season, whatever our record is, the team will be better than the 11 - 5 team last season even if we win less games. We're headed in the right direction.

Well said, and IMO, you are right. Team needs more talent on both sides of the ball, but have some nice young players. Merling was nice to see today.
 
i dont mind taking a few steps backward. i expect to win between 8 and 11 games. i've said this. 12-4 is nutts. i mean thats reserved for ELITE teams. we are def not there yet.
what i am most worried about is i dont want this regime to crumble etc and be lost again. like seriously i dont want to go into another rebuilding process. we need some continuity to stay on top like alot of these other elite franchises. i just hope Ross knows this b/c i know hes high on the FO now, but with the way he is if we have a bad season i wonder how he'll react.
