Are we gonna go to the superbowl this year?! Playoffs?! In reality no...

That being said...are we YEARS away from competing. Come on...

Honestly we competed last year. Yes 1-15...but 6 games we lose by 3 points! That is competing...not winning...but competing! So with the cowboys...err...free agents we have added....we will be competeing again.

run ricky run...:woot:

Take it up with Parcells, he along with Ireland and Sparano said that this is a process that won't happen overnight. Even with our FA signings, we aren't significantly better than we were last year. We still have a long way to go.

I hope we can be a good team next year, I just don't see it.

Maybe not as a team overall but I think we will be significantly better on special teams and that alone should account for 1-2 more wins than last year.

Miami does a long road ahead, but it's not as long as most people think.

Oh definitely, our ST's are better and the players are a better fit for this system. But we still will be lucky to win 5 games this year, especially in a tougher AFCE.

If injuries could just hit our division rivals the way they did us last year we could make the playoffs. I'm not going to set the bar as high as usual and say were going to the superbowl but I think playoffs may be possible if things go our way. We should have one of the most lethal rushing attacks in football. Ricky and Ronnie both have proven that they can run behind any line. We have already fixed ST's and if our defense can do just enough we can shock the league.

You don't fix years of bad personnel moves (drafts, FA, and trades) in the course of one offseason. It will take time. That said, most people aren't going to be satisfied with just being competitive...There will have to be some W's along with those close calls...

Seriously though, do you really think we were 'competitive' last year ?? Even in the close games, thru most of them we had no chance of winning...

The Saints did it two years ago. The whole roster was overhauled and ended up making a strong run. Last year they bombed, but the year before they really played well. Payton came in, cut a bunch of people, filled in their spots with his type of players and went from 3-13 to 10-6 and lost in the conference championship game. Who would have thunk?

O' Ye of little faith. Anything is possible. We have already addressed the ST's and should be electric in that area. Our D really can't play any worse and Joey, Matt, Holliday, and Bell should all be 100%. Rod Wright should continue to develope and hopefully we won't have to try and protect any weak spots like they tried last year. Ricky and Ronnie will rest the D and hopefully be at the top of the league in rushing. They don't care who they run behind either.

yeah, like when we lead teams going into the last few minutes of the game, or when we kept a team from scoring for 98% of the game. Yeah i see it, when your one or two terribly called plays away from winning, you had no chance... right:err:

There are a few teams that were lucky enough to have a quick turnaround, but you shouldn't expect it to happen. There are just as many, if not more, teams that took years and years until they became good again. The Pats are a good example (pre-Tom Brady).

Bledsoe and Curtis Martin had them well on their way before Brady IMO.

Remove the aqua colored glasses. Miami is at least least 4 years away from sniffing the playoffs. Tuna will jump ship by year 3 and will probably will have left the Phins in a mess.

The homer goggles sure do a lot of harm to our fin fans. To make matters worse, our defense is in rebuilding mode. There were days where we could get away with our defense making plays, those days are gone.

It really pains me to hear people say we'll compete in 2010 or beyond. Whether it's reality or not it's tough to stomach. What is the point in watching the next 3 years then? To see guys develop?

C'mon, we're in this to get wins not learn to grow together.

I hope we get to .500 next year. That would make my day
