its easy to stop it, i think, all you got to do is what san diego did last week one of the times when they sent a corner blitz off the left side where fasano is blocking and hope that he gets there fast enough before ronnie can hand it off to ricky or Bess. Its a gamble but thats probably the best way

I pointed out ways to stop it in many posts, san diego stopped it exactly how I said it could be after the patriots game. They did, it only was "successful" after the play broke down and ronnie made a skilled individual play.

You simply force Brown to make a decision quickly instead of sitting back waiting for the line to get a big push.

people just fail to realize where 90% of our yardage actually comes from.

Ahh there you are, was looking for you in another thread ;)

Simply put, there is no way to stop it, sure you might stop it some of the time, but everytime? Not gonna happen.

an extra corner on that side, if not lined up wide on a WR, should be an automatic key for Ronnie to hand to Ricky and let him rush to the now undermanned side of the defense.

We were getting at least 5 yards on every wildcat play. That's cool with me. Just because we don't score doesnt mean it was stopped. I'd be happy with 5 yards everytime we ran it.

It's not only about the defense having difficulties stopping the Wildcat that makes it so effective. Its the guessing game that makes it work. You cannot sell out a 8 man blitz to it because Ronnie, Ricky or Even Chad could post it up to the tight ends. You cannot play off the ball because Ronnie will most certainly get 4 or 5 yards off of it. It is the guessing game the defense just has to react to what the offense does because there is too many options. SO, it puts a little thought in every one of the defensive players head that they could do something crazy with the ball making it impossible to predict.

and to stop it, it forced san diego to move the safety away from the line of scrimmage, which in turn allowed Miami to run for 4.3 yards a carry (instead of the 2.8 ypc we were getting in the first two games) which in turn gave Miami a win.

Kind of sounds like the chargers gnawed off their hand to spite their arm
:woot:

YEAH that will work every time if a OLB can stand up Jake Long with a two step head start. The only way that will work is if someone misses a block. (personal insult)

The only way to effectivily contain the wildcat that I can see is playing man to man and every defender has to win his battle with his guy or he will be the guy that gets exploited.

Haha. Silly rabbit. That won't work. Ronnie sees this and keeps the ball, lowers his shoulder and the 190 pound cornerback attempting to tackle him, bounces off. Ronnie then runs to the empty weak side for the TD. When are they gonna put this formation in Madden?

Or play the safety on ricky williams and hope that safety can win the battle. :ponder:
