Just curious to hear some peoples stories of the people they have met. Can be anyone, players, coaches, managers...

When I was younger, I got a chance to get on Hueizenga yacht. I was probably 5 or 6 when it happened. My dad was the Chief Corpsman on the submarine L. Mendel Rivers and the Captain was friends with Hueizenga. The Rivers was doing a dependents cruise out of Miami for Fleet Week and Hueizenga got a ride on the sub. After the cruise, Hueizenga invited the captain for some drinks on his yacht. My dad, the COB and a few of the department heads also got invited to bring their families to join the captain on his yacht. So I've got a picture of me, my dad, and Hueizenga on his yacht in Miami.

Sweet deal!

I was playing poker at a casino in Biloxi and overheard the guy next to me talking LSU football with one of his buddies at the table. They were both LSU grads and I, an Ole Miss student, had to remark my displeasure in their school (It's an Ole Miss/LSU thang). It was all in fun. Then the two were talking about Miami. Obviously, I had to engage further in this intercommunication amongst my fellow Dolphin brethren! Turns out, one of the guys was an accountant for the Dolphins organization. I was skeptical at first, so I began to test his knowledge. He passed, but admitted he is a Saints fan, since he grew up in the Baton Rouge area. He even gave me his email address, but I've since lost it. Was a pretty neat interaction. He referred to Wayne as "Mr. Huizenga," and said he was intimidating, but nice. I asked how he got into 'the biz' and he said he was a Sports Admin major, and worked with the Saints for a little while as an intern in college. The Miami job was his first big step, but was looking into an opening with San Fran. Was a pretty nice dude, though he sucked at poker!

I went to a cherity baseball game and set two seats down from shula. Got to shake his hand when the game was over as the person I was with was a relative of his and he introduced us. At the game which featured several current and retired dolphins, and the played agains the west palm beach expos (a semi pro team from the south florida area). I got to meet and have dinner with mark duper / clayton, richmond webb, don shula, and don strock. It was by far one of the most memorable moments I have regarding the dolphins.

I work for Anthony Munoz and got to meet Paul Warfield at his celebrity golf outing. Real nice guy, but there's a lot of other cool players there as well; Kellen Winslow, Rayfield Wright, Jim Kelly (even if he is a Bill).

I met Dan Marino at a charity event this year in Richmond VA for the Boys and Girls Club. Check out the picture to the left. I caught Dan in the middle of saying something to my wife but it looks like he is checking her out:wink: I took several pictures with him and he autographed a hat and a picture for me. Others had full sized helmets and jerseys and he signed them all!!!!

I see Tony Martin at least once a week here in Tallahassee, nice guy looks like he can still play and still as fast

I was at Shula's Steakhoue with my wife having an excellent dinner. I looked over and saw Mean Joe Green having dinner. I really wanted to go over and say "Want my Coke?". He's probably heard that a million times since he did that commercial. I was also at the Miami Denver Monday night game. Elway vs. Marino. Great seats. I think we were 9 rows off the field at the 30 yard line. Bob Kunchenberg walked by and got to shake his hand. Talked to him for a few minutes. Nice guy.

I love reading these posts!.... however being I live in Massatwo****ts, I have nothin to share and remains envious of you all!

I use to live in LaBelle FLA. While playing pop warner back in the late 70s, our coach was friends with Larry Czonka. I remember seeing him during one of our practices. He was wearing jeans and had thighs that were huge. He didn't look like he could even walk.

Two stories actually, both many years ago. The first one: I was with my dad as he walked into an old Big Daddys during the Holidays to pick up some beer. In walks the one and only Larry Csonka. That was a couple of years after they won the back to back Superbowls. Csonka was so laid back and quiet, you could never imagine him to be the monster he was on the grid iron.

The other time I was about 19 working at the Miami International Merchandise Mart parking cars. As a crazed phin fan, it totally made my day when I open the door and who steps out??? Don Strock chaperoning a new wet back quarterback named Dan Marino. Marino was just off of his first season and Shula new what he had in Dan, so he had Strock keeping an eye on his investment. Strock was funny, making some kind of comment like...yeah Now I'm relegated to babysitting the franchise....Marino looks over at him and gives him that trademark laugh.

finatical

my step father met dan marino at a golf outing, he signed my dolphins hat

At the UM prayer breakfast, Chris carter who was still on the dolphins was giving a speech. I went up to get an autograph and a security guy told me to sit down, but Chris told the guard "let him up man, hes just a loyal fan"

This doesn't deal with the dolphins but o well
my dad flew the carolina panthers down from NC when they played the dolphins, dan morgan and ricky manning autographed something for my dad and he gave it to me.

Univ of Louisville - Dolphins

I lived next door to RB Ron Davenport when he was at U of L before he was a DOlphin.

LB Mark Sanders also went to U of L, he's a coach in Louisville, I have seen him at some coaches clinics in Louisville, drank a few beers with him.

I used to see Mark Clayton on Campus after his rookie year in Miami.

ive been lucky enough to meet jason taylor in the bahamas and travis daniels at a heat game not this christmas but the xmas b4, a game vs the lakers just the day after the fins beat the titans ( i was in attendance for that game as well). this year i also met marino at the place where i work where we do player signings so that was awesome and i got a chance to get a mini helmet signed and get a few minutes to discuss some miami football with dan the man. all my experiences were positive and awesome and i hope in the future ill be lucky enough to meet some more players and coaches.

My dad painted Jay Fiedlers house and my aunt(attorney) works by Jim Kiick's office in downtown Ft. Lauderdale.

Closest I've gotten are these 2

I met a kid at a McDonald's in east Cincinnati last year who was wearing a Marino throwback jersey. I thought it odd, since he looked to be about 12. I asked him about it and he told me that his history teacher was a former Dolphin. He told me the name and I can't remember it now, but it wasn't someone famous. He was with the Fins for only part of a season and was cut or traded the following Spring.

The other connection is a programmer I work with who used to work for the Miami Dolphins website a few years ago. That's as close as I get.

Now, if we were talking baseball, I've got a better one. My wife has a cousin who's Ken Griffey Jr's agent! My wife's from Cincy originally, in case you hadn't guessed.
