Storm Johnson added to PS

Thought he'd be a good 3rd down back when he came out, stunk it up in Jax though. Low upside move I think

Analysis
Strengths Excellent size and strength to run between the tackles. Has quick feet, gets out of the blocks well and shows some giddyup for a bigger back. Nice leg drive and forward lean. Surprisingly slippery. Good open-field ability -- displays nice peripheral vision and elusiveness to run to daylight. Creates after the catch -- can turn a screen or dump-off into a long gain. Scheme-versatile.
Weaknesses Has tight hips and struggles to string moves together. Lacks elite top-end speed -- cannot gain the edge or pull away from the pack. Gears down and chops his steps to cut. Too often tripped up by ankle tackles. Pass protection needs work. Shaky ball security -- eight fumbles in 366 carries 2012-13 (always totes in right hand). Only one year as a feature back.
Draft Projection Rounds 4-5
Bottom Line A Miami transfer, Johnson is a big, nifty-footed runner with enough run strength and burst to be productive in a downhill power scheme or as a one-cut zone runner. However, he will have to take better care of the football and make strides in pass protection to earn carries.

If he can run like his first name he could be hard to bring down....lol

Storm Johnson played at the University of Miami for 2 minutes, transferred to UCF. Drafted by Jax in 7th rnd (2013), spent time with Tampa.

Storm Johnson now coolest name on the Dolphins.

Loved him coming out of college, lost track of him in the NFL. Seeing as 3 years later, he's on the practice squad, I'll assume I didn't miss much. Best of luck here though!

I live near UCF, he was good in college but his game never translated. I don't think he has the instincts needed in the NFL. Surprised we bothered

New Dolphins practice squad RB Storm Johnson was coached at UCF by current Dolphins RB Coach Danny Barrett. Probably not a coincidence.

I covered UCF during Storm Johnson's last year at UCF when he was there with Blake Bortles and Breshad Perriman. Super talented but didn't seem like he could get out of his own way. I didn't get the best impression from him when I would interview him. Dude had some serious wiggle though. The way he made some guys miss looked absolutely freaking impossible. He's a serious longshot to stick here, though. Doesn't seem to have it at this level.

The other Storm I remember is the old Orioles pitcher, Storm Davis, right?
