Strength of Schedule.

Why not try something different in strength of schedule..rank each team from best to worst..1. Pats 2. Eagles etc., add up the numbers and divide by 16 and see how that works out....
Just a comparison within the afc east:
Power rankings taken by from Cbssportsline:
Miami 236/16= 14.75
Jets 202/16= 12.63
Bills 236/16= 14.75
Pats 233/16= 14.56

So, by looking at this, the Jets followed by the Pats have the toughest schedule in AFCE...

We play in the toughest division in football and there are teams in our division that ended the season with much better records than us it may appear to be unfair. By the flip of the coin, the Jets and Pats seem to have an easier strength of schedule because of our W-L record from last year. It will all even out during the season when we kick their A##.

USA Today sports weekly lists the strength of schedules as:
Maimi- tied for 3rd
Jets- 8th
Bills- tied for 11th
Pats- 17th.
Can anyone please explain to me how in a league that prides itself on paridy, we get "SCREWED":yell: :fire: again! Last year we endured the hardest schedule in the whole league and we didn't even make the playoffs the year before. Maybe I am missing something but I though fair was fair!?:fire:

Yes I will splain. Pats have 2 games against a 4 win team (Dolphins) and the Dolphins play 2 games against a 14 win team (Pats). That's a 20 game difference and it accounts for much of the rankings. Pats play a first place schedule and we play a last place schedule. The Pats' non AFC East schedule is tougher.

Strength of schedule based on last season doesn't concern me that much because teams and standings change so much from the previous year. What could seem like the hardest schedule this year (based on this year) could very turn out to be an easy schedule and vise versa. And as much as it seems like, the NFL isn't screwing us over... this system and games are scheduled years in advanced... the only time we could successfully prove they're screwing us over is if they give us 4 road games in December against New England, Buffalo, Green Bay, and Cleveland.

Finish from 2004

If you want to take a look at the win/loss ratio, Miami has the worst schedule. We play teams that were 140w-116L combined this year. I will list the teams as well as the winning % of the teams each plays.

Dolphins .547 140 116
Chargers .543 139 117
Patriots .539 138 118
Jets .535 137 119
Chiefs .535 137 119
Ravens .531 136 120
Bills .531 136 120
Browns .527 135 121
Raiders .527 135 121
Broncos .523 134 122
Bengals .523 134 122
Steelers .508 130 126
Jaguars .504 129 127
Colts .504 129 127
Texans .504 129 127
Falcons .500 128 128
Packers .496 127 129
Buccaneers .492 126 130
Panthers .492 126 130
Saints .492 126 130
Titans .492 126 130
Lions .488 125 131
Giants .488 125 131
Vikings .480 123 133
Bears .480 123 133
Cowboys .477 122 134
49ers .471 113 127
Redskins .465 119 137
Seahawks .457 117 139
Eagles .453 116 140
Cardinals .449 115 141
Rams .445 114 142

Look at the Eagles. They play a complete opposite win/loss ratio we do. I sure wish we were in the NFC. This AFC east thing has to go.

The schedules are set YEARS in advance... the schedule makers have NO IDEA how to screw us over. The only thing that is not set is WHEN we play each other and the home/away games. We play in a tough conference and are paired up against a tough conference. No one is out to screw us........

Part of this is right and part of this is not true. The home and away games are already known. We know who is coming to Dolphins staduim up through 2009, except for one game a year.

I agree with you!! Is it me or do we always have to end our season at new england. Why can't we be home against the Cardinals or something.
