They drafted Jason Allen in the first round and he should help stabilize either one corner spot or a safety position, which leaves strong-side linebacker as the position on defense that is a concern. Sedrick Hodge is penciled in as the starter for now, but Donnie Spragan will be in the mix. Both are just average.

Other possibilities that come to mind:

1) QB- if something goes wrong with the Harrington deal. However, I think it's a virtual lock that he'll be playing for the Dolphins next year.
2) C- I'm not entirely sold on either McKinney or Hadnot, although I'm not exactly worried if one or the other started the season

3) CB/S- Jason Allen can only play one position at a time, meaning that the other three spots will most likely be filled with FA signees.

As to number 3, I think Will Poole and Travis Daniels have solid shots at CB (although WIll Allen is in the mix), and Yeremiah Bell should challenge for one of the safety spots. All three are Dolphin draftees.

Or by Will Poole, Will Allen and travis Daniels.... I like our secondary. Alot of questions but a lot of potential.

OLB is our biggest hole!! Spragan was very suspect last year(who remembers that penalty in 4th Q at Buffalo) and I'm not sold not Hodge either. I do agree that C could be upgraded tho. The other posts answered yours questions about QB and the Secondary. Let's get Jamie Sharper!

I too, am not sold on Hodge or Spragan. I still feel that this is the weakness in the team. OLB is a must need on this team , if they want to progress to the the SB. I do feel in that all other spots, that we realistically challenge, apart from at OLB. Thoughts please

That's what I get for not thinking things out entirely before posting. With all the FA DB that the Dolphins signed, I somehow overlooked them. My main point wasn't that FAs were necessarily bad, but whether that many newcomers would play well together, but that's been completely blown out of the water. C'est la vie!

No one is knocking you, you are just making a point. That it was this site is meant to be about. I just made the same point on VIP, basically at the same time. Lets see what your response is , comparedd to mine.

if both are just average and thats our biggest hole then we dont have a hole

Maybe Ben Ishola can be our OLB? Seeing that he is athletic enough to play both DE and OLB, I think he has a shot.

man what has donnie spragan done.....he was very solid last year

Well, we could've taken Carpenter in the 1st and addressed that position in a big way.

We could've taken Watkins in the 4th then and upgraded both the LB and safety positions, but we didn't.

we dont need to do anything yet...i say we wait until the June 1??( i think it is) cuts are made there are always great talent that get cut for cap reasons maybe we can steal a OLB there hopefully a stud will get cut and problem solved...if not i think hodge/spragan/bowens(possible plug in) /seau(maybe come back if we need him) can handle it
