I've heard from several camp reports here that the QB's have struggled, and now they have it listed on cnnsi.com (under fannation) that they are having a hard time. I know it's still fairly early but this seems eerily reminiscent of the past how many years now? Is there any hope for these guys? (I give Henne a pass given that he's still got similac behind his ears)

It's normal for the defense to be ahead of the offense at this early stage of preseason. But in light of all things, with all the talk of Beck throwing 4000 balls, I'm disappointed he isn't spot on with almost every pass.

Are they looking for a QB in Baltimore?

Its still early, they've had how many weeks off? And the first day or two back im sure they'd have a little rust on them. Give it some time, hopefully we can see a glimmer or two in the next week or so.

Out of the 3 qb's only one of them has had any real experience as a QB in the NFL. The other two are pretty much rooks and they are all 3 learning a new Offense so I wouldn't expect them to come on the scene and light it up in the first couple of days of training camp.

maybe beck is more of "a gamer"... lol

unfortunately i see a lot of 8 man fronts coming our way this year.

Like everyone said, it's VERY early in TC.

Eli Manning threw two interceptions on his first two throws in TC this week. I read somewhere that he was good last season.

It is normal for the offense to perform poorly. If they don't pick it up, that is when you worry.

It is early, and prefer to judge them a little more once preseason gets underway.

From the sound of it, Beck has been horrible, Henne is playing like a rookie and McCown is doing OK, but not great.

If the season started today, it sounds like McCown would get the starting nod.

I think we'll not really have a clear cut guy for a few weeks. All reports seem to flip flop between QBs. Im really looking for performance in the upcoming preaseason games. It'll be interesting to see, but if Beck struggles at all in that first preseason game, I think the debate is over and McCown will start. It doesn't make sense for the entire preseason to be QB competition. It would be nice to have it settled early. Clearly neither one are the future. Just insert one and let's go.

Lol.

I can't wait for the preseason, that's when we'll see the meat of the QB competition, and we'll be that much closer to the start of the regular season.

Anyone read Omar Kellys report about how Long was handling Merling, and after a couple times, Merling came up swinging?

I was mulling over the comments that I have been reading about our QB's and was thinking maybe we have a really good defense that is about to be unleashed this season. I mean alot of the guys that parcells & co. have brought in are getting alot of praise in camp (Ferguson,N. Jones, Ayodele,Anderson, Merling etc.).Maybe we shored up the weak spots on this defense and it is making things twice as hard for the Qb's.

I think it takes quarterbacks the longest to get back into rythm in training camp because they need the reps more than anyone else

IMO the QB position will be solidified in the preseason games when the coaches can see in game speed.

Beck may have thrown a million balls this off-season, but how many of them were with a pass rush coming at him? From what I have read it's only when he's being pressured that he goes to hell. That's just a matter of inexperience. I don't hold that against him, but if he doesn't get his mind right I do believe if McCown ends up starting the season Beck may never see the field in a Miami Uni.

Yea its still super early . . . I expect by the preseason these guys will start to look better.

Remember how DOMINATE the D looked last camp . . . . we all know how they faired during the season . . . I mean its almost comical if Beck or McCown have a few bad days that people jump the gun n think that they aren't the answer.
