why not give him another shot to get a wr spot maybe he will become the wr we thought he was when we drafted him. he is the size we need at wr and he would be perfect.

remember bp has never done with big name wr's look at the giants when he won the sb back in the day stephen baker, mark ingram, and mckonkey, no big name wr's they just knew their roles.

but he has always had the household names on defense

Uhhhh....because he SUCKS!!! The only reason he wasn't cut last year was because we sunk to much money into him.

I agree Wilford sucked last year but I don't see him getting cut until the end of traing camp, if at all.
It will cost more to release Wilford then it does if he reamains on the roster for 2009.I posted an article the other day stating Wilfords contract status. If hey stays on the roster for 2009 he will count $3mill agaisnt the cap and if he is released he will cost 4.5mill agaisnt the cap.

This was one of the few terrible contracts the front office gave to the free agents they signed.Such as R.Torbor,C.Anderson,M.Lehan.QB McCown.

The only 2 free agents I liked were Pennington and Starks.

Well, at this point it costs more to cut him than keep him. I dont' think he's staying around. He's a no talent slug. PArcells aqnd company don't suffer no talent slugs like Wilford wasteing the air of talented players.

I don't see any reason in the world that they will cut him. For the money it'll cost, it'd be much more efficient of them to get Sporano's foot up his butt and make him earn the damn money. The guy has incredible size and talent there somewhere.

We've already paid for him, we may as well milk as much productivity as possible from him until either his roster spot becomes too valuable or it's financially viable.

You never know, he might break out next year. And have four catches.

I think he gets cut before training camp starts. So what if we eat a few million in cap space? Why keep him on the roster? He contributes 0% on gameday.

Na man be bold, im predicting a doubling in production 6 catches.

But in all seriosuness, maybe he will learn and start playing better and utilizing his size. He could have helped us in the redzone since most of our receivers arent tall.

Whats not to like about McCown?? We signed him as a free agent and traded him away for a 6th?? how is that a bad deal??

Smiley, Bess were also good free agents.. C. Anderson provided nice depth.. Also I don´t think it was that big a deal to try a couple of players.. We had a lot of cap space and every reason to "turn around every stone"..

I don´t how you can not be happy with the job this FO did

we can only hope..

last season is over, it was fun to watch, now its done. we are moving into next season and everyone on the roster will compete for playing time. wilford is cheaper to keep than cut. if the fo can not trade the guy or get something of worth then he will be here in the spring and compete for time. he's a big strong physical guy and we need that type of reciever. i don't see him having much value in trade but you never know how things get packaged or how other teams view him. i hope he was frustrated as heck last season, learned he has to buy in and commit to the work and philosophies of this coaching staff in order to play on this squad, and comes in busting his butt and playing hard. the trifecta will not just give up and eat the loss unless he is a huge negative in the locker room and he makes a complete mess of our chemistry. so far he has not done so, there is something going on with the guy from a coaching/commitment/philosophy stand point cause the front office believed in his ability and signed him to a decent contract, then things festered. its really a very interesting situation.
