Anyone know ,other than say Bill Arnsparger, any asst.
coach from under Shula that had sucess as a head
coach else where? Pro or college.

I think Monte Clark was a head coach?
Howard Schnellenberger
Mike Shula at Alabama now.

IMO Shula's biggest flaw was his loyalty to assistant coaches and underlings even when they demonstrated they were not up to the job. There wasnt much of a turnover of coaches except for those who had clear better opportunities elsewhere.

I brought up Mike Shula when we were talking about HC/coaching staff. I really we bring him in at some point, he made Fiedler play better than anyone else, and I think he brings the best out in mediocre players. I'd love to take him in as some kind of coach or assistant.

There was a guy by the name of Chuck Noll who once worked for Shula in Baltimore as his D coordinator. Rumor has it he was pretty good with a certain team from Pennsylvania in the 70's.

One,Mike Shula was never on one of Don's staff, plus as a BAMA
alum,I never want to see Mike leave BAMA.Mike is in the
process of building something great.

Explains why Tom Olivadotti stayed around as long as he did.

Arnsparger worked under Shula. Schottenheimer worked for Arnsparger. Bill Cowher and Tony Dungy coached under Schottenheimer, so they can be included in his legacy. Monte Clark and Dan Henning also had decent careers as head coaches.
