Suck it up for 3-4 years

i cant believe im reading this. how is any QB or RB going to surive with our OL. if we had Vick he wud be scrambling for his life almost every down & a M1 Tank couldnt even get positive yrdage with our OL.

QB needs time to pass the ball esp the deep routes. those need time to develop. we cant rebuild esp with our aging DEF.

Oh yeh saw that now. NO way, the defense doesnt have 3 to 4 years. if we are gonna do that, implode this team and start over.

If Poole's as good as he looks, I'd like to trade Surtain for a premier center (O. Kreutz or someone similar) and a #2 pick, sign Edge, and draft a LT with our EARLY #1. Draft a top-flight RG with the #2. That way we have depth at RB with Gordon, and our O line improves a LOT. Also let Minor go -- we don't need TWO 3rd round picks as backup RBs. I don't think this is the answer for next year per se, but if we're rebuilding long-term this is the way to go.

With this plan we could have the following lineup:

WR -- Boston
WR -- Booker
WR -- Chambers
TE -- McMike
LT -- early #1 pick
LG -- James
C -- top-notch guy in trade for Surtain
RG -- #2 pick
RT -- Carey or McIntosh -- let 'em compete in camp
RB -- Edge
QB -- Feeley

Hire Charlie Weis and switch to a 3 wide one-back set and we're ready to go.
WOW, stop living in your fantasy world....

- We do not have a 2nd rounder, we used that for Feeley.

- We will draft value next year. If that happens to be OL then we will, but don't think that we will draft another OL because we NEED OL.

- How do you know Charlie wants to come down here? There is another handfull of coachs that I can think of that are qualified, and don't forget to put Mark T. in there as a canidate.

Better yet, what if they KEEP Wanny? I really dont think they will - The guy is just lost right now, he can't coach in that state of mind, but he could really turn it around.

- If our o-line doesnt get better, James would be a retard to come here.

Think a little harder before you post about "rebuilding"

This mentallity is why the Dolphins haven't been to a SuperBowl in 20 years.

Surtain is in the final year of his contract. JUST DON'T FRANCHISE TAG HIM! Let him go and use the cap space wisely.

Also, NO to Charlie Weiss.

I know that about the defense. BINGO! The lightbulb just went off or you uh! Time to start over............the entire point of my thread!

This defense has been together for what, a long time now.....5, 6, 7 years. They haven't won anything yet. We can break them up and still NOT WIN! Time to start over 100%. Top to bottom.

You put AJ and Gordon behind the best o-line in NFL history........we still aren't good enough. They aren't good enough.

The o-line is a lot of it, it isn't all of it.

AJ Feeley might be ok (we can't see because of our terible o-line) but he won't win us a Super Bowl I know that much already.

He's played a game and a half for the Dolphins. I'm curious as to how you already "know" he won't win a Super Bowl.

Suck it up for 3-4 years?? So what, our defense can slowly degenerate and retire? 3-4 years we will have a completely new defense and finally a good offense? I dont think so

We are an OFFENSIVE LINE away from being a playoff team. Did you see our defense last night? Hell we were even missing 3 starters in Howard, Surtain and TimBo and they still only gave up 9 points to a GOOD passing team in Cincy.

NO QB in the league could put up numbers behind that Oline. It all starts at the line. Thats a problem that can be fixed in the offseason. We are still 2 players away from having a good Oline. Look on the bright side, this line cant play ANY worse because last night was one of the weakest offensive perfomances against a mediocre defense I have ever seen.
We shut down the Bengals.......lets throw a Parade! IT WAS THE BENGALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And we need more than an offensive line. How about a RB. How about a punt returner. How about a #2 WR, and a #3 WR while your at it. This team isn't close. For the love of god, for how many years have we been close. This team isn't close.

The defense is good. But it also old. This defense always plays great in Weeks 1-6. When the season goes on and the aches and pains set in, they show their age, slow down, and break down. It's the same ole song and dance! And some of you people keep falling for it! Amazing.

Time to suck it up for a few years. New coach. New QB. Steps 1 and 2.

Oline and runnig back is steps 3 and 4. And while in those steps.....you piece by piece break up the defense (one that has won nothing....ever) and replace parts. Exit Surtain....insert Poole. Hopefully exit Seau...insert Pope. That way you keep a decent defense in tact so in a few years you aren't totally screwed.

He was behind McNabb and Detmer in Philly for years. The guy has 18 starts since high school and played college ball for 4 years and NFL ball for a few years. If he was any good, don't you think it would have come out by now.

Im not ripping the guy..........he is a decent NFL back-up QB. Nothing more.

why r people counting out aj feeley? a number 2 at best, what n the hell is that! he hasnt played much, u can tell hes young and inexperienced, give him some time 2 take his lumps.. he will learn and b better than what u think! the online is young and they sucked last nght.. they couldnt give him time! it was horrible, if they could give him some time , i bet we would have seen a better aj ... give the guy soom credit , hes got fire, u can tell that.. and the team seemed 2 play better after randy started going off on the sidelines.. if we would have all r players n there we would have won that game but still looked ****ty... you know surtain ,bownens, chester, we wasnt at full strenth last nigh.. we arent that bad, just our o-line! we need 2 protect, damn!

It all revolves around the Oline. #2wr = booker, #3 Wr = boston... I think next year we are pretty set at WR.

RB is a question mark but again, a GOOD Oline changes the RB situation around.

If we can have the Oline block for more then 3 seconds.. and have Wade out serving water then we will be ok
Wade Smith probably wouldnt know who to serve water too.

I don't think you need to rebuild around a QB. Another thing in common with those teams on the list is none have won a Sb. Detroit plays in a bad division, Joey Harrinton hasn't proven anything either. Mike Vick is a great athelete not a great QB. A great defense is the way to build a team with an efficient offense. Honestly who was the last QB who "carried" his team to the Super Bowl, 1st Rd QB's are hit and miss it's too tough to predict whose gonna be good and whose gonna be a bust.
