What is your opinion on this move on the future, because I think that could be more than just one year move, if we could keep him next year at the right price, with ronnie, ricky and suggs, we could be unstoppable on running and very great by the air and saban think always on the future.

Opinions :dolphins:

one ricky will be the man next year i doubt suggs will wanna stay on our roster to be 3rd back on the depth chart. keeping him will probably be to expensive as well for the low workooad he would have (keep in mind we wil still have minor and morris to)

yeah..i was actually thinking about this earlier..Ricky comes back next year and then we will have 5 RB's...if that happens, i dont see Suggs coming back next year either with Morris, Ricky, Ronnie, and Travis here..Suggs will help us this year if he stays healthy and battle for the 2nd RB spot (until Morris comes back)

it will be fun to see Suggs this year

I''m not so sure that Suggs lasts after Morris' suspension. He's a capable runner, but can't stay healthy. Morris and Minor can have been able to stay healthy enough to help the STs. If Suggs was all that, he'd have never been waived. Don't get too excited about a player we picked up off the waiver wire....

The running game starts with the O-line. If that doesn't get fixed...we could have Barry Sanders in the backfield and it wouldn't matter.

I certainly agree with this. The oline will determine the success of the running game.

As for those that are counting on Ricky Williams to be here next year, I might consider using caution in that scenario. There is nothing certain vis a vis Ricky Williams when it comes to playing in the NFL.

He might be in India, he might be working in the cannabas industry, he might be in the NFL, he might be injured. As a matter of fact, I would say that Joe Toledo is more of a sure thing for the Fins next year than is RW. And that has nothing to do with how I feel about Joe Toledo.

The bottom line here is that any RB that comes here and produces this year should be the leading candidate to be on the roster next year.

Bingo!

You got that right, the OL worries me far more than who our backup RB is, this year or next.

I'm not excited about Suggs. Travis Minor is a more complete back, and hardly anyone gives him any respect (Except the coaches :D ).

Minor has good hands, he's a good blocker, a good ST's player, and stays healthy. Suggs doesn't do ST's, and can't stay healthy. Suggs hasn't even toted the rock better. Here are their career NFL stats:

Minor:

258 att 1,059 yards 4.1 ypc 8 TD's

Suggs:

263 att 1,048 yards 4.0 ypc 4 TD's

OK, so just why is everyone in love with Suggs??? Suggs is nothing more than insurance in case Brown or Minor goes down. Believe me, it will be Brown and Minor toting the rock in Pittsburgh on Thursday. Suggs won't see any action and Suggs won't be on the team once Morris gets healthy.

GO PHINS~!

Minor has been a part-time, mostly 3rd-down back his entire career....which will always lead to padded ypc numbers. How many 100-yard games does Minor have in his career? Minor has his role with this team - it's just that that role will never include 'featured back'....which is why we need a player like Suggs in case anything happens to Brown.

I don't know how many 100 yard games Minor has (which also "pad") your YPC, but could that be because he has been only used on third down?

The guy has consistently done the job when given the chance. This much is for sure, as soon as Morris comes back Minor will still be on the team and Suggs will be history. Suggs is no upgrade at all and will be sitting the bench on Thursday (like a good little insurance policy) and Minor will be rotating with Brown.

Suggs being here for more than one year depends on him staying healthy, his accepting of a backup roll similar to that of Travis Minor and if Ricky Williams returns as Nick Saban expects him to.

ricky will not be the man next year Ronnie Brown will be the man from now on.

minor is playing under a one yr contract if suggs proves to be an upgrade you can say goodbye to Travis:shakeno:
