Here's a look at what JJ Watt got. Cap hit in year 1 was $4.6M, year #2 was $22M, and year #3 s !2.5M. His initial guarantee as $21M, with the rest guaranteed 2 yeas later.

CK got $3.8M 1st year from SF, $15.2M in year #2, $16.8 in year #3, and $19.4M in years #4 and #5.

These BIG contracts are not as scary as many believe.

With ya rob, and it's not that hard to do. It's very realistic to compare Suh to Watt. The $4.6 first year cap hit is the same as Mitchell, and we have tons of space to cover year #2. It does not disrupt the team just makes everyone on half of the team better.

CK is fair to compare to RT. IF we do the same, Tannehill will not be a big hit, $15M, until 2017. The salary cap will go up by more than that in the next two years.

SPEND THE DAMN CASH!!! I want to win NOW!!! Im not concerned with what our cap will be like in 2 or 3 years.. We'll restructure contracts like everyone else does.. Do it!!!!!!!!!

did Wallace really make 17 million last season? jesus

The cap hit was 17 million . . . doesn't mean that is what he made though. But yea, if you cut Wallace right now the contract would of been 2 years and 30 million "actual" dollars.

I really think people are setting themselves up for a very nasty fall here

22 mill is not scary?

Ozzy rules!!

Not when it's actually 13 a year over the first 2 years for one of the league's best players.

My guess for Tannehill is something like Flacco or obviously Kaeps if they want to mitigate risk a bit better. Either way, 14-15m a year. Plus Suh at 13m, Clay at 7m, Wallace at 10m Wake at 10m and Grimes at 10m. That's 44% of the cap. Most teams would break down similarly. If we don't go for Suh and sign Odrick, it's about 41% on those players. Some difference.

We might have to blow this thing up anyways! Im with you, Lets get into the playoffs already! Sign Suh while we still have Grimes, Wake, and (maybe) Wallace...

perfect rack on your sig btw

I want us to get Suh. We haven't have a player like that in years but it takes more than 1 guy to win. The texans have JJ Watts and how many games they won last year? I'm not saying don't do it but the ones that want him so bad will be the first ones complaining about lack of depth. I'm ok oone way or the other though.

Hell we complain about that w/o Suh

May as well have him if that is the case. He'll make enough plays to where the depth means less anyways.

In all seriousness, we clearly have to draft better and be more successful in free agency (smaller signings) when you give somebody this type of contract.
