It's the "holy roller" rule to avoid teams from fumbling the ball forward to gain yards late in the game.

It's intended so that you can't intentionally fumble forward as your getting tackled after realizing you won't make it to the yard to gain

That's a stupid rule

It’s to prevent players from fumbling on purpose on a 4th down play late. I believe that play that made the NFL make this rule was called the holy roller back in the 80s.

I don’t see Baltimore or Indy losing next weekend. The Browns losing is the most likely to happen of the three scenarios.
