win sunday and theres an excellent chance we'll be 9-5 going into the last 2 games. who knows what will happen then, but at worst we'll have a winning season. lose sunday and the wheels will probably come off. i hope the crowd brings it.
 
Sunday really does not mean much. Check out the playoff machine. We can get in at 9-7 if Denver go 1-3. The last 3 division games are the key.

But going 9-7 will give other teams a chance to get in. So i think they need to go 10-6 while denver goes 9-7 because i feel 10-6 will be ahead of other teams still fighting for a playoff position.

I would be happy with a 9-7 regardless if they go to the playoffs or not.

Just hope they show some emotion and urgency. No more playing flat and lifeless.

you think denver is going 1-3? and even if they do you got pittsburgh/baltimore both at 7-5, so its likely 1 of them will be 9-7. plus all the teams 1 game behind us at 6-6 like buffalo and the afc south teams. no way we get in at 9-7, theres too many teams. gotta get to 10 wins and even that is no guarantee to get in.
 
IMO the next two games are must wins. I understand the Cardinals are an out of conference game, but IMO the games in Buffalo & vs the Patriots (unless they rest some key players) are going to be tougher. Not one of these games are going to be easy but I know I would feel more confident about their playoff chances if the Dolphins can get to 9-5.

Yes, don't worry until the last possible moment, that's the key! Ha Ha. Preseason doesn't matter, First 1/4 season doesn't matter, it's only the half way point, We will make it up in December, This game doesn't matter, we will just count on others to lose. We will get 'em week 17! People are funny!
 
Agreed, even if the math was in our favor, after the beatdown we just took, this team needs to bounce back, prove it is not the same team that let us down in december the past few years. If there's one knock on Tannehill and this team that still needs to be overcome, it's winning the big December games.
 
I'm afraid last sunday was the season. I don't believe at this point that we'll make the playoffs. Of course I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see it. We started 1-4 and that did us in imo. That first game in Seattle where we left 13 points out on the field while losing by two is coming back to haunt us.

They have won some big games in December just not enough of them to qualify for playoffs.

In 2013 they won 3 big games before losing the last 2 that everyone remembers.

2013 season: Week 13 Sun Dec 1 2013 at NYJ Miami 23, NY Jets 3
2013 season: Week 14 Sun Dec 8 2013 at Pit Miami 34, Pittsburgh 28
2013 season: Week 15 Sun Dec 15 2013 at Mia Miami 24, New England 20
2013 season: Week 16 Sun Dec 22 2013 at Buf Buffalo 19, Miami 0
2013 season: Week 17 Sun Dec 29 2013 at Mia NY Jets 20, Miami 7

In 2014 they won a big game on the road on Monday Night football against the jets before dropping the games to Baltimore and New England that put us out.

2014 season: Week 13 Mon Dec 1 2014 at NYJ Miami 16, NY Jets 13
2014 season: Week 14 Sun Dec 7 2014 at Mia Baltimore 28, Miami 13
2014 season: Week 15 Sun Dec 14 2014 at NE New England 41, Miami 13

This year we let one get away from the get go but can still reverse the trend.

2016 season: Week 13 Sun Dec 4 2016 at Bal Baltimore 38, Miami 6

So we have won 4 crucial December games but then followed them up by losing 5. Going to need a 3-1 this year to reverse the trend.
 
This Sunday is the season if we lose. If we win, nothing is set or done.
 
I agree it's the season. I believe Miami has to win these last 4 to have a realistic shot. Anytime they need someone else to lose they never do. Denver is that team.
 
Wrong
If we go 3-1 to finish this is the one we can afford to lose. Tie breakers for wild Card involve conference record..Its a big game no doubt and a win would really really help. But, the conference game are vital.
 
I need another 2 wins to consider this season a success. 7 is an improvement but this has been a TOUGH seven. Gase needs to show us how his teams close a year out.
