The patriots sacked Palmer so many times, ad facing us, it doesnt add up to a fins win.

But, if MUlarky (why did saban get him again?) can get his head on staright, and not call predictable plays, i think we can find a way to use those guys Im forgetting there names. O yea Chris Chambers and Marty Booker two former probowlers. One of the best TEs in the league, the best Slot receiver I have seen this year and Ronnie Brown.

The key is, is for culpepper to start completing those 12 to 18 yard passes in which chambers showed he can excelll at last season. WE gotta find a way to protect Pepper. Maybe get an extra TE in there on some pass plays to block, so Randy can get some chances to do what he does best. Receive. Somethings gotta give becuase in 2004 we had Feeley and a bunch of outcast 3rd strig RBs and we looked better than this.

Despite everyones hatred for Culpepper so far. We should have expected some of this with the mediocre but well disguised o-line play last season. I for one saw the Bills, Titans and Texans as automatic wins, durig JUly, seeing how well this team looked on paper but as usual the NFL is the one league in which a bad bounce, a wet ball, or an off day can kill ur season. IN Baseball if u have a bad day, week or even Month like the Yankees had, you have enough time to make up for it. In the NFL one bad game equals no January or february.

But back to sunday we need to get Chambers more involved. Last season in games in which he excelled we won.

Too many things have happende so far, I think Mularkey this time will improve his offensive strategy

What exactly does that mean? Your post did nothing to clarify it. What is your point?

He needs to quit calling plays as if we have the light weight Broncos o-line, were not a team that should be doing any pulling on pass plays. We have fat road graders on our line meaning they should just lineup and smack the d-line across them in the mouth. We are not a finesse offense, we just don't have the personell for it. We should be running the ball 30-35 times a game and throwing a trick play in every once in a while. Once Mularkey realizes that this is the approach we should be going with we will be a better team that really wears down an opponent. This would eventually open the passing game up a little more.

C'mon...Four sacks is not really that mythical is it? The Phins match up pretty well with the Patsies. We will get sacked and so will Mr. Brady. Daunte has a sore shoulder and so does Mr. Brady.

Both Defenses will slug it out. It's always an exciting game to watch.

Fear not.

The Pats Sacked Palmer 4 times, we could top that in the first 15 plays !!!!!

Should be an interesting game, I'll be happy if we're just finally competitive and play a little offense, execute a few plays. Heck this week I'll be happy if we don't get blown out of the stadium!

They need to run some no huddle that has woked for them before and it throws the defense off.

Looking at last weeks game i would use the shotgun and the rolling pocket to allow Daunte to look downfield more. But what do i know!?!

If Mularkey didn't change his play calling style when changing teams, why does anyone think he'll suddenly change it against NE -- and that even if he did, that the change will be successful?

Belichick's got Mularkey's number; he's beaten him 4 times straight, and he's going for 5.

This is one question I've had for the last what... ?? 4 or 5 years.. With the infamous term "8 in the box" and all the blitzes we've seen.. why the heck havent we ran more screens and other type plays that counter the blitzing??

i remember last season in the first half everyone was calling for Lenihas (sp?) head because of how poorly the offenese was playing. even though Saban says the offense hasn't changed since scott left for St. Louis i think the offense is still learning mularkeys terminology ad his way of play calling. hopefully the offense gels soon and they start scoring more and protecting the quarterback. But again this all lies on the o-line and if they can protect the QB and ope up running lanes for the backs.

Exactly what did the O-line do to disguise themselves last year? I don't see your point. Could it be that we are seeing more blitzes because D coordinators don't respect DC's ability to make quick reads and get rid of the ball. Our pass protection has been pretty good against base defenses, but I see EVERY team we play putting 8 guys on the line of scrimmage repeatedly and using various blitz formations.
What they are doing, in essence, is attacking DC's weakness.
All it takes is for DC to make a quick 3 step drop, make a quick read and get rid of the ball to an open man who hits a big play and you will begin seeing the defenses backing off.
Unfortunately, even if there is a broken coverage DC is unlikely to see it. If he doesn't see it, he can't exploit it.

Weren't the Fins successful in preseason against Carolina using a 3 step drop and a "hot read" ? Didn't they also use that with some success against Pitt, too -- using the cushion between a WR and DB to get some quick passes?

Mularkey likes screen passes about as much as he likes TEs catching the ball (notice McMichael has become "the invisible man"). I can't remember the Bills throwing one screen last year. Maybe it has to do with the kind of linemen Mularkey had/has in Buffalo and Miami -- big guys who aren't real fast and so can't get out to fake and then get out to block?
