All-Pro DE Jason Taylor did some long snapping and might be able to handle the job in the case of an emergency, Cam Cameron said.

Coaches also allowed LB Joey Porter to punt one. Sufffice it to say it's good thing he's a three-time Pro Bowler at another position.

K Jay Feely missed a 43-yard field goal wide right, but was nails on everything else.

In other news:
- DT Keith Traylor and OL Anthony Alabi rode the exercise bikes as they recover from minor surgery.
- OL Joe Toledo did not practice because he's been bothered by the same foot he broke last season.
- TE David Martin was back after missing two days with the flu. But FB Kyle Eckel missed practice with a similar bug.

Man I told you foot injuries are death. They are "slow to never healing"
But we drafted another guy with a foot problem. Sweet.

The Toledo pick doesn't seem to be working out. I was afraid of his injuries in college, and they seem to be showing up in the pros.

Yeah, all foot problems are the same right? That's why Jason Taylor looked so bad in 06 after his problems in 05...

Let me also add that the punters need to work on being more consistant!!!

One punt by Fields goes for 55 with GREAT hang time then the next two go for 38 on a much lower path. The potential is there for sure but September is not far......

foot injuries are clinically very complicated and can take a long time to heal depending on the damage tissue, i hope the docs made a good call on ginn, they did not on culpepper

Here's the facts: JT's been with us for along time and is our best player. He's had injuries foot, back, hand, etc., but the great ones seem to overcome their injuries or have good fortune that the injuries are not severe. Injury prone players are always injured and cannot play. Get your facts straight, Toledo was injury prone in college and the same, so far, as a pro. I hope he heals. He's 6'5 330 , athletic and we need him. Ginn's foot sprain may not heal for 6 months, maybe longer. The fact is: he's not practicing and is pedaling on the stationary bike and we're gonna pay him approx. 12-15 million dollars in signing bonus alone. Those that distort the facts because they don't agree with them are doomed to la la land.

Man we are going to be in serious deep doo if we ever need Joey Porter to punt.

Injury prone huh? Ok, name another injury that Ginn has had? He is injured yes, but Ginn is not Toledo. His foot is not Toledos foot, anymore than it is Taylors.

I have made no comments on Toledo, who does have an extensive injury history, other than to point out that a blanket statement equating his foot problems to Ginns, is as "factual" as a blanket statement equating Taylors foot problems to Ginns.

As for the doctors being right or wrong. There is no way to know 100% how an injury will heal. Doctors just give the odds. Just becuase Brees beat the odds does not mean that they were wrong. It means that Brees was both lucky and a very hard worker.

Brees hasn't beaten anything yet. The nature of his injury dictates that his problems may develop in the next couple years, and not this last season or next.
