There are so many story lines going into the game Sunday. One such discussion I haven't seen too much about is Flores vs. Belichick. Who has more intel? For example, does Flores have the upper hand knowing how Belichick likes to prepare and attack a very young offensive line? I would expect lots of stunts and delayed blitzes, but are there other cues Flores may know? Will he overthink the game?

It's a good question. I think Bellichick always has the coaching edge, but early in the season Miami's offense is more of a mystery so that could give the Dolphins an advantage there.

I really think this game comes down to tackling. Without preseason games, its those fundamentals that could be the difference.

I feel like Cam Newton starting for the Patriots might actually be the biggest question mark for either team. Preparing for the Patriots twice a year meant planning for Brady for almost 20 years. Will be interesting to see how Flores plans to defend what should be a wildly different style offense.

Stack the box. make Newton throw against our DB's.

I‘d imagine something along the lines of what the Titans did to Lamar Jackson in the playoffs as well. I guess I’m just curious what Cam has left in the tank. I was never a big fan, but he could certainly put up some huge numbers in games...between the injuries.

The bottom line is the Patriots aren't very good. They've got a new QB that's been damaged goods for a couple years now. They have arguably the worst receiving corps in the NFL. They have mediocre backs. Their defense was decimated by opt-outs and free agent losses. It looks like that 2011 Colts team that lost Manning to injury and got so bad overnight they ended up with Andrew Luck.

On the flip side the Dolphins' lines are terrible and will be exploited. I don't think people realize how bad the OL is. It could be 2018 Cardinals/2019 Browns bad. This is a game I can see either team getting destroyed. Too many unknown variables.

Need to stop the run and Newton running for 1sts. Let him in the pocket. I don’t wanna get burned vs the run.

It will come down to big plays and turnovers. This Dolphins offense is replete with explosive playmakers, and Gilmore isn't even 100%.

The only way we lose is if the turnover ratio is lopsided in favor of the Cheating Slime Dogs.

This Dolphins defense is twice as, no four times more talented than last years group.

Cam scares me, but I have to keep reminding myself Brady to Cam is a downgrade. Cam will make a few plays here and there that Brady couldn't, but overall it's a better situation for Miami. If this game comes down yo The final 5 or 6 minutes I'm going to feel better knowing Brady is not there and Cam is. That's not to say Cam can't still beat you, but I'll take my chances against this 2020 version of the Patriots.

In this chess game, I hope Miami uses the Sicilian against the Patriot's Grob opening.

Seriously though, I don't think Belichek does anything really surprising as a defense or offense. He just takes away the opponent's strengths and attacks their weaknesses. Obviously it's too early to know a team's tendencies and analyse those circumstances. IMO Miami can take the opportunity to come out with their new OLine and RB's and play some smash mouth and play action. Miami's Defense should be able to press and contain. We'll see what Cam has left but I know the polish came off that turd here in Carolina a few seasons ago.

I don't know what to expect, neither team has any current film on the other with no preseason games played, and the turnover on both rosters, it's all a big mystery. Should make for an interesting game. It will probably come down to the basics, blocking, tackling and turnovers...

My concerns are on offense. I feel we have depth, experience and talent on defense. Further, Flores is a defensive minded coach. Offensively, with our inexperienced, limited practice, and new players we should start with a ground and pound approach. Quick slants, drop offs to Breida and screens if the defensive front is penetrating quickly. Play action once we have established the running game and take deep shots with a rolling pocket.
