Super Bowl caliber Defense wasted

And so far our defense is averaging 9.5 points a game....

So you are saying our offense under Earl Morrall was a bed of roses?

Do you not think that defense was put in bad situations? All 12 points per game were a result of the poor play of the Miami Defense in 1972?

Remember that Superbowl? How did the Redskins score 7 points?

Yeah - 9.5 points.

But - where are the turnovers? We had a spark in that dept. last year, as T Buck is a gamer. He creates energy, anticipates throws and can rip off an INT.

Watch this Defense - you'll see a considerable drop in turnovers this year. Kind of like it was two years ago.

The Defense has the majority of our payroll. They are obligated to play like it.

Zach, Jason and Junior had good games. But we are now a mess up front - with Larry Chester now likely out for the year.

Without Tim and Larry - all the injuries at corner - a group of wounded and absent Running Backs - and a Left Tackle (the most important position on the O-Line) that couldn't start anywhere else - we are in deep sh** for the rest of this year.

We have had a season full of injuries in just two weeks.

Our Defense is supposed to be stout. But how many other Defenses put points on the board? How many defensive scores or turnovers did you see by other teams yesterday?

Our Defense is good - not great - and even more so is their lack of creating a turnover.

we had no chance for turnovers.... Palmer threw horrible passes half the time, we stopped the run and were behind the line of scrimmage for a lot of plays. I cant recall one pass Palmer threw that I thought we had a chance for a turnover

EXCEPT for that long one where he hit Antuan Edwards in stride in the endzone..... that should have been a catch.

Super Bowl caliber defense? With a minute to go and the game tied, the Bengals offense who did NOTHING all game long leads its only drive down the field and scores to win the game. This D (I know it can be defended by arguing how badly the offense played, but bottom line the O tied the game) choked YET AGAIN. It has never won ANYTHING more than a wild card game. Time to re-work it.
This is a great post. The dolphins Defense is very good. But at this point it's not great. It's no ravens superbowl run great. In order to be a great defense you have to play great for four quarters, not 3 3/4 quarters. On that last drive a great defense would have sent the bengals offense to the sideline after three play's and given their own offense the ball back with time to win it. Bottom line is,this offense is horribls and this dfense as good as it is, just isen't good enough to win many games while this offense finds it's way.
