It’s become increasingly obvious there are only two ways the Miami Dolphins will win a Super Bowl in the next few years: Maybe God reaches out and touches quarterback Ryan Tannehill and suddenly he begins playing like one of the NFL’s most elite passers. Or maybe the team drafts a quarterback who’s viable enough to play, suggesting a relatively early-round selection, and that new guy becomes the Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers of his generation.
That’s it.
That’s the pathway choices to a Dolphins championship by, say, 2023ish.
If one of those two improbable things don’t happen relatively soon, this team ain’t winning a Super Bowl before we’re well into the next decade. This team ain’t getting off the mediocre treadmill anytime soon.

Stupid article. The gist is that the Dolphins seems to have faith in Tannehill and aren't likely to give up the farm on a draft a QB crap shoot.

They aren't drafting a QB in the first round, just like 27 or 28 other teams. Why does this idiot feel that an elite QB is needed to win the SB? That was proven incorrect AGAIN, just a couple of months ago. Talk about thick skulled....

I wish I had the actual numbers on this, but drafting a QB in the top 10 doesn't guarantee anything; nor does drafting one later NOT guarantee anything. Russell Wilson, Kolin Kaepernick, Tom Brady, Nick Foles, all led teams to a Super Bowl and were not drafted high. Pick the RIGHT QB is the most important thing, then design an offense that capitalizes on his skill set.
If Miami doesn't draft a promising QB at SOME point, then let's gripe. But for now, Tannehill is still young. Groom someone in case he is not able to get it done. I know the odds of picking a winner drop the further down the draft rounds we go, but stars are found later on- just gotta nail it.
(I know, ...not easy)

Pretty spot on article.

The Dolphins from a personnel standpoint this offseason are trying to operate as if they are the Patriots. Getting rid of their most talented players who dare to be challenging. Signing mediocre receivers who consistently “do their job” and “fit they system” and fall in line with the “culture”

They are operating as if they have their Belicheck and Brady in place with Gase and Tannehill. Very amusing.

The sobering reality is Gase and Tannehill arent Brady and Belicheck, and that’s why we’re ultimately going to be a bottom feeder in the AFC East yet again. They fall short on schematics, talent, and execution.

I predict during the season that guys like Albert Wilson and Dan Kilgore are going to be used as scapegoats for a poor offense on this forum, when they really shouldn’t. Those guys are mediocre, and will be as such over a 16 game season. But that’s who this braintrust specifically sought out because they have their coach and quarterback who’s going to make everyone look better than they are because of the “culture” they set forth, am I right? Lol

All you have to do is look at last year's Super Bowl and ALL of his assumptions & premises are disproved.

Even the QB examples in that short sample disprove what he is using to support that piece.

Brees was traded from the Chargers after how many years of not winning a super bowl?

Rodgers sat for how many years?

And even with Aaron's indisputable talents how many rings does he have now?

That guy started writing much better last year, it looks like he is back to writing sad, emotional sh*t pieces again. ;)

While I'm hoping the plan works about, and am a little optimistic about it as we should be in March, I can't argue with this. I live in NE and sort of laugh at the fact that Pats fans and the sports media here feels the Patriots are so good because of their scouting and player acquisition. I think that is ridiculous, if you look into it you find they strike out all the time on draft picks and FA signings. They have been consistently good for so long because of Brady on offense, he's made it work with a bunch of stiffs, and Belechick on defense, he's done the same 2017 being a HUGE example. Add Gronk and you see why NE gets away with have a front 7 completely filled with jags and makes the Super bowl. They're coaches do very well and force you to beat them physically on defense. While that's totally doable the majority of the league is coached so poorly they make enough mental errors to beat themselves and the Patriots cash in on every mistake you make.

In today's NFL all coaches need to do is put there players in a position where you have to beat them physically (meaning almost no mental errors) and with some talent they'll win tons of games because many teams will beat themselves week in and week out. If we can avoid that it will happen for us too.
