Actually to clarify, My prediction was a 10+ points win in the post... UNLESS DENVER got their running game going and then predicted PITTSBURGH still to win by 2... :D

As I said in the next post, I was only kidding.

I never though the Steelers had a chance against the Colts, let alone Denver, so anyone who predicted a Pittsburgh victory in Mile-High obviously knows what they are talking about.

I still think Seattle will win Superbowl, but I think (and hope) it will be a close game.

Any team that wins its last four regular-season games to clinch a wild-card place and then beats the top three seeds in the conference deserves respect.

To downplay the steelers because of their sixth seed is a mistake. Let's not forget Big Ben's injury and how that accounted for losses to jacksonville and baltimore. Had he not missed those 4 games in midseason Pittsburgh wouldve easily won the AFC North and wouldve maybe even been the 2 seed with a 13-3 record.

I did not know about Ben's mid-season injury.

I watch a game Sunday evening (6-9 here) and follow the Dolphins online.

Other than that I see / read very little NFL coverage.

Our press does not cover the NFL widely.

Hopefully, now that I am a member of this forum, I will be able to learn a little (a lot?) more.

Yea...NOBODY wanted to play them going into the playoffs, either, after their four game winning streak to end the season.

Seattle is going to win. Pittsburgh will have trouble stopping Seattle's balanced attack. Seattle won't abandon the run like everyone else. Also, nobody has really taken notice but Pittsburgh isn't running the ball very well, 2.7 ypc each of the past two games & Seattle is no slouch on defense either, especially vs the run.

Pittsburgh didn't really NEED to run the ball much with how badly the Colts and Broncos defended the pass.

MOst of Pittsburghs runs come in the second half anyway.

they will probably struggle to run since Seattle is decent at run stoppage but Seattle's secondary has to play smart.

If this exact same argument hadn't been made before every single game Seattle played against the latest 'hot' team (Oh, those other good teams? The ones you beat? They actually sucked. THIS is a real team...) I might actually give it some credit. Like I said the Steelers match up well with the 'hawks, and vice versa. They are the ONLY team in the AFC that actually concerned me as a Superbowl matchup, so don't get all preachy about the superiority of the conference.

Playing wash and car is very different than playing a hot AFC team. The worst AFC playoff team(which happened to be the 6th seeded Steelers) would be playing for homefield in the NFC. Congrats to Seattle I am happy for them and their fans but the ride will come to an end w/o the Lombardi.

Pittsburgh is the better overall team, I'm not trying to take anything away form Seattle they are nasty as well but I think the Steelers are better. IMO the Steelers want this one more, because the Bus is hungry for a ring.

In my opinion, Pittsburgh wins that game with or without Palmer. They obliterated the Bengals with Palmer earlier in the year in Cincy, and a lot of the experts were picking Pittsburgh even before Carson went down.

Cincinnati still dominated most of the first half without him...true, Kitna is no Carson Palmer, but the offense was clicking. Last I checked as well, Carson doesn't play defense, and it was ultimately the defense that gave the game away.

Steelers may have been the 6th seed, but there is no way in hell they were the worst AFC playoff team. That dubious honor would go to the paper-tiger Pats, maybe the defenseless Bengals. Jags would be down there too. I think it's pretty clear that regardless of playoff rankings, Pitt and Seattle were the best in their respective conferences by a good margin.

Pitt was 10-6, they were not close to the best AFC team in the reg season. Obviously they have been in the postseason. The only team really overrated was jax b/c they played such a creampuff sched.
