Super In-depth preview of Fins/Steelers game

There was much less bias then I thought there would be. He seemed pretty aware the Steelers have some weaknesses, and that they would struggle to pass against the Phins.

If the weather is poor, with high winds and rain, it will really, REALLY hurt the Phins more since they can't run the ball. In bad weather, you run the ball.

The Steelers might be able to do that, but can Miami?

With every week, it seems more incredible to me that Rick and Wanny put together these guys and expected them to be an effective OL. :shakeno: Was it Wanny's optimism that made him think they would be okay once the real games started? Did Rick think saving all that cap money on a cheap OL was a good deal? How much do we have invested in this OL versus some other teams? Just another cheap vet or two would really help right now.

I'll keep hoping that McIntosh will spark them to at least average. That should be enough for a win versus the Steelers.

It's sad that our offense has scored as much for the other team as they have for us. If they could just play average we'd be 2-0 right now. :shakeno:

Forget about all the unrealistic expectations extreme homer fans have placed on Miami for a second and wonder, has anything they have done to this point been a surprise?
Even with the additions, we really didn't get one glimmer of hope to cling to during the preseason. There is nothing but a bunch of bodies out there learning how to play together.

Until they do, our team will look like fodder to opponents.

I chalk this up as win for the steelers....and our next 4 maybe losses too, but good "learning experiences".

Fin-atic tried to warn us! ;)

Who said there wouldnt be growing pains? Fin-atic said these guys would suk, but he wasnt talking short term, he was saying they would suk period. Way too early to say we will suk down the road. I said this season COULD be special, not becuase we make the playoffs, but because we could possibly come out of all this with a respectable offense for a change. We shall see.

That's a very good review, you only wish people on this site would be as objective as that steeler fan.
The fact is our O is got a long way to go.

At what point does the finger begin to be pointed at the offensive line coach(es)? I understand that Tony Wise or any of his predecessors aren't responsible for bringing in the talent, but at some level they have to be responsible for the nurturing of the talent on hand. Or is it a case of, as Gary Stevens reportedly put it some years ago, that "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken s**t."

Very nice review..seems well researched and accurate....thanks for posting it..

thats probably the best review i've ever read for a matchup... our own dang reporters aren't even that accurate with all the angles. I would like for that guy to do more writeups for more of our games

RG Travis Whitley was inactive all 16 games of 2003, his rook season. He may or may not become a player but with just 2 starts he’s currently a liability in pass protection.
Well, atleast they were wrong on SOME things.

That was actually a really good read - not so much bias as it was just plain truth. He gave a GLOWING review of our defense, and I respect him a hell of a lot for that. No predictions either, just " IF they play this way, THIS might happen..." kind of stuff. Real, real good read. :D

If I read between the lines, it sounds like he's saying the Steelers will win.:D

It was a very fair article, but I do think Big Ben will give up a pick or two.I sure hope we can stop the running game if we do I say we get win #1 against Pitt.
