**Super Thread** Clowney/Tunsil Trade Rumor (merged too many times)

I have to say that nothing this team does would shock me. We've made some of the worst moves ever and not many good ones in the last 20 years.

I like pretty much like everything we've done since the end of last season.

Sure hope we don't blow that newly established record...

I've liked their moves so far this year, even though I knew we hadn't done enough to address the Oline. Then again we parlayed that into Rosen and an extra 2nd round pick as i firmly believe we would have drafted there or Dline again round 2.

As advertised, we're looking for players who know it's a privilege to play in the NFL
and not some kind of entitlement. I don't see huge $$$ acquisitions fitting that profile.
My reservations with Clowney are with his apparent attitude. Then again, if Grier and Flo met with him and still feel confident about it then go for it.

Im saying id rather pay a bit more for an impact player tbh. Especially if it fills a need.

I like the moves we've made since the end of last year but please don't blow it now. I'd rather draft a DE with our 1st round pick and have that player on a cheap deal for 5 years.

I see this as a win win for the fins. You get Clowney with no future debt (dead money) and if he works out and becomes a team player, you can sign this 26 year old to a long term contract and he can be another cornerstone for this team. If he does not work out, you let him walk next year with zero cap hit. Don’t see what the issue is. With the caveat we get a fair trade offer.

Unless they have EXTENSIVE research (due diligence) on the clown and have overwhelming evidence he's a
super *star* for us and a bonafide GAMER CHANGER -- and it's virtually guaranteed -- HARD PASS.

Not to overstate my opinion...

:)

100% agree. No.

1000% agree.

The "issue" is the comp we'd have to give up.

One way or another -- we won't get the kid sans debt.

Can you imagine the draft next year and what our team is going to look like if Rosen pans out..

That's the best case scenario upside!

Seems to me a lot of hard core fans are bought in on the longer term at this point and

PLEASE DON'T SCREW THE POOCH with some quick fix!

If we trade for Clowney, I don’t believe it counts against the compensatory pick formula. Isn’t that only for free agents signed before a specific date? (Like May 15ish?).

Edit: if I am right, and I am pretty sure I am, we only stand to gain a comp pick
