**Super Thread** Clowney/Tunsil Trade Rumor (merged too many times)

Clowney, and (2) 1's? I can't pass that up.

Clowney, a 1, and a 2, both for next draft? Also intriguing.
I agree with you. I think Miami senses Bill O'Brien is desperate. If Miami can secure 2 first round picks, I'd make the trade. That's QB trade rate and a steal for Miami.

If the Dolphins get Clowney + 2 first round picks, that would be ridiculous and amazing. How anyone could be upset at that would blow my mind.

That was not what was posted.

The post claimed we wanted Clowney, a 1st round pick and another high round pick for Tunsil.

I do not believe we could, or should, turn down an offer like that, if we can get it. I don't feel it will upset Tunsil too much or hurt his future value knowing that he was worth two very high draft picks and an all pro defensive player.

Tunsil for Clowney is a relatively even trade. What makes it special is how each team views their current player. We value Tunsil more because we want to keep him. Houston values Clowney less because the are trying to get rid of him.

This puts us in the driver seat in that we can get more for Tunsil because we aren't in a hurry to get rid of him. Getting a second 1st round draft pick and another relatively high pick along with Clowney is in Miami's best interest as a developing team. We will have more work to do on our front line with him gone but can compensate to an extent with Clowney playing at his current level on our defensive unit.

In the end we do not lose much functionality as a team, and we nearly double our number of high draft choices next year. This is probably too good to be true, so I won't start salivating unless I hear we actually have made this kind of trade with some significant draft selections added to what we have for next year.

If Houston wants to pony up with a 1st, Clowney and another high round pick Grier would be stupid to turn it down and whatever players would revolt in the locker room over that trade is just an idiot

That's true in order for the deal to go through he has to sign it and agree
another big issue is he still has no agent. I have no clue what he is doing but it should be more concerning that he seems to be screwing around with the season around the corner

There is no way you turn that down. I love Tunsil’s potential as a franchise LT but that would be the fleecing of the decade.

With 4 first round picks in 2 years you have all the ammo you need to trade up and get anyone you want. That could end up being the turning point for this franchise.

Trade up? They’re winning 2-3 games max.

I Miami might be asking for Clowney , first, and they said high pick. That could be a second rounder. I doubt it’s a another first. I wouldn’t do it. No way. We will lose enough where we don’t need to move up.
Plus those will be low draft choices in each round. No way. Tunsil can play. Keep and build.

This again is just dumb on Miami front office. If they get two first and Clowney. I would consider it. But I don’t know if I would pull trigger. Clowney doesn’t want to be here! That is huge.

I mean not really. If Clowney leaves you are getting a third in compensatory at worst.

If he has a great season and wants to leave, then you franchise him and trade him for a 2nd or higher

Or he signs an extension.

2 firsts for Tunsil and yea I have to do that. There is only 1 cheap year left . . . .when you get 8 cheap "first round talent" years in return.

Team ain't there yet. This is a move a rebuilding team has to make.

And with all that ammo, they could compete as soon as 2020 IMO.

The meeting between Flores and Clowney should decide it. If Flores walked away from that meeting with the feeling that he didn’t want to be here, I can’t envision him making the trade

Can't see us trading Tunsil unless we get a offer that we cannot refuse like a 1st round pick, a player of Clowney's calibre and much more.

I may be done. Have been a fan for 40 years, always defend the Dolphins. I really believe we have things about to head the right direction....... If they do this I may not have any left in the tank. I wouldnt do it for Clowney and 2 first rounders..... We can not possibly be this stupid can we?????
You'll be done if we trade a player not named Marino or Griese? All our players are tradable.

Lets say you get Clowney and 2 firsts for Tunsil. Should we be happy about that? I dont feel Clowney is worth the deal hes going to command.
