**Super Thread** Clowney/Tunsil Trade Rumor (merged too many times)

Does Clowney even want to be in Miami
It's been reported that he doesn't want to go to a rebuilding team (nothing personal against Miami). Seattle and Philly have been thrown out there as two "preferred destinations." It isn't like he dislikes the Dolphins, or Miami, etc.

2 number 1 picks are the minimum. One has to go to finding a new LT. so that is a wash with tunsil (not really). The other is the incentive to trade.

Clowney is a bonus because they want him gone.

Even 2 ones and Clowney isn’t enough for me. Their picks are going to be in the mid 20s.

This has to end in either a Hershel walker type trade or an extension for tunsil.

I just hope they are being honest with him. “LT, we love you and are not trading you unless we get a ransom. That isn’t a slight. That means you are the single most valuable player we have on the field. But we would be fools if we didn’t listen.”

All this talk is RIDICULOUS......Tunsil is now the lynchpin for the O Line rebuild. Quality O lineman (LT's especially) are not a dime a dozen. If we trade him for Clowney and whatever, it will still set us back further (AGAIN!!) on the O Line front. We lucked out with Tunsil slipping to us in the draft when most predicted he'd be gone in the top 3 and now we're gonna trade him??

What's making me worry is that Flores is a D minded coach AND Tunsil came in under a different coaching regime.

Only if Tunsil is thinking of being a long term Dolphin. If he's looking to go to greener pastures or move to a contending team in a few years I don't see the problem in trading him and getting something of value. It depends on a ton of information that we really won't have access to.

Agree...but if the stories are even somewhat true about other players "revolting" if this happens then that would seem to indicate that Tunsil is wanted there and may want to remain a Dolphin. Like you say, not a lot of info for us to go on but trying to read the tea leaves.

  • Jadeveon Clowney LB, Houston Texans

The Houston Chronicle reports unsigned Texans franchise player Jadeveon Clowney is "adamant" that he does not want to be traded to Miami.

Clowney holds all the cards, as a deal can't happen without him first signing the tag. Clowney is trying to force his way to a contender, reportedly either Philadelphia or Seattle. It's a major blow for the Texans, who covet Dolphins LT Laremy Tunsil.

What a mess this thing turned out to be. Not only did they divert from their intelligent plan, they did so for a player who expressed no interest in being here.

Meanwhile they dangled a possible all time great dolphin out for bait, while telling him they would be resigning him. I imagine our future negotiations got much more expensive and I understand.

Hope Flores/grier learn that they have a long road ahead of them and they are not a clowney or an away right now from building a solid contender

And once again, because we let this play out this long, we look bad. Instead of saying that Clowney wants to play for a contender, it comes out that he is adamant that he doesnt want to play for Miami. The nobody wants to play for Miami chatter will start. Once Clowney met with us, I'm sure it was clear he didnt want to come here, the talks should have ended. It could've just been said that it wasnt a good fit for either side at this time but Dolphins are gonna Dolphin...
