**Super Thread** Clowney/Tunsil Trade Rumor (merged too many times)

He has no leverage.Hes not a free agent.
Texas can trade him out of spite to the worst place team just because they dislike him or his attitude
Spite? If you mean cutting off your nose to "spite" your face, then yeah. Nobody is giving Houston anything valuable unless it is a sign and trade.

And it's kind of like saying no one will pay Antonio Brown because of his antics in Pitt. Players with talent always have leverage.

Not in Miami -- not with Flores. It's TEAM.

To violate that premise now wrecks the program

before it gets off the ground.

Seems like not many understand this lol. Thank you. Fans it's a whole new world in the NFL. A players world. Also, watch out for the new cba, it will support this concept.

I dont think you understand clowneys position. He can't sign longer than the franchise tender. One year. That all any team has. Extension time has lapsed.

I think the thing people miss is he a perfect Patriot defensive end...not simply an edge rusher.

The thing is... we are at least 3 years away from having to pay franchise Quarterback money...so a guy like Clowney could be here long enough for a title run.

No Tunsil in the deal... or our first rounders.

I prefer a primarily player trade... I would part with Stills, Parker and even Drake in a deal.

If it includes drake, tunsil, or a 1st rd i will literally trash my house. We paid wake less for light years more production. Obviously talented but not worth giving up that much.

I was not aware of that. If accurate, he will likely end up either playing for Houston, or not at all.

The Eagles, for example, have only a couple mil under the cap, unless they unload a couple big contracts.

Listen, wake will be in the fins ROH. But seriously, in no way at this point is he anywhere close to Clowney. Now don't get me wrong. I'm on the Rosen does well and draft chase young wagon. But for the right price I take Clowney over wake every day.

This is a pseudo PATS move … depending on the price …. they've done quite well taking players on for a year or so and trading or picking up a comp pick.

Just like Rosen, who knows how such a move will work out ….

I think any team that wants him can make room for the 16M this year. It's not that crazy of a number. The situation for Clowney and Houston is what is in line for 2020. Houston screwed themselves the same way Miami has done with all thier main FAs. Houston bluffed, Clowney called it (just like bell). Now owners need to change strategy. I absolutely guarantee Clowney ends up with exactly what he wants.

Cheaper to lock Tunsil up now than to wait later. He's going to get paid.
And he should. Having a franchise LT, a lock down corner, a do it all FS and LB and a penetrating DT is a very good foundation to build your team around.

.......and they certainly have depth at receiver, and especially RB (Howard).
