I have noticed an incredibly hypocritical attitude on this board vis a vis Joey Harrington.

As most here know, there are two prevalent points of view regarding the '06 Fins. One wants patience and understanding and one wants accountability for results--or lack of them.

Its the first group that I find more than just a tad hypocritcal. I read posts urging for us to be "true fans" and support the team. According to them, the team needs the TRUE fans now more than ever, and we should understand that Duante Culpepper is great, but injured, and its only been three games and we should not resort to calls for "starting that loser Joey Harrington"...!!!!???? Excuse me, but isn't Joey a member of this team, and if we are really suppose to support this team shouldn't we support all of the players? If Joey is struggling, doesn't he need us now more than ever? How we can we be TRUE fans if we aren't supporting Joey?

Really, I am not surprised. Everyone has things about the team they like and things they don't. It's just funny and ironic how the "holier than thou do-gooders" scold us for being negative about things we find lacking and then turn right around and are totally negative about things they find lacking.....Hmmmmm.

i wont go out of my way to root against Culpepper..or C-rap as Stevendinho dubbed him....but i will not root for him either. Never wanted, always wanted Harrington.

I agree 100%. I want DC to do well. But if it comes down to it, and Joey has to come in for any reason, I see no reason to support him as much as we would anyone else on this team. Good post. We must support the whole team not just some players.

I am glad you used the word "hypocritical." I have supported the idea of playing Harrington, not bc I am a Culpepper hater, but bc of what I see on the field of play. As a result, I have seen posts referring to me and others as idiots, morons, don't know football, not "true" fans, insane, bandwagon jumpers, negative, etc...

What is more negative...people calling for Harrington to play or Culpepper supporters bashing those people and demanding they be positive? Yeah, hypocritical is a good word to use.

That being said, I think there are another type of fans and that is respectful "true" fans that support Culpepper to continue to be the starting QB and base their logic on reasoning (although I may not agree with it). I have the utmost respect for those fellow fin fans.

I like the post alot and i am a finfan have been for a long time but as for supporting DC i just cant do it, i have never liked him and i liked him worse when the dolphins signed him. As for Joey i have always liked him even when he was loosing in Detriot i just thought that he had a bad rap because of the team.

I was ecstatic as anyone when we got C-Pep but I don't think his level of play is where we need it to be at the moment.

supporting joey PLAYING at this point is like supporting a cancer growing deep within the team. thats all we need is to divide the team

how will that divide the team??

prescribing to the idea that Joey deserves a chance is like being against the war in Iraq. If you're tired of the killing and don't share the president's view on the wae , you're branded as unpatriotic. If you don't go along with CPEP you're not a true Dolfan.

give it up Joey is our backup... if and when he goes in I'll be chanting his name and hoping he lights it up.... but Daunte is the guy and if the guy aint hurt then calling for backups is a vote against him. When this team makes the playoffs with Daunte i hope all you Joey Harrington loving schoolgirls are left with a bad taste in you mouth... Keep Doubting players it only makes it that much better when they prove you wrong.

This post is just plain nuts. How is saying Joey deserves a chance make anyone any less of a fan. I guess about 90% of us aren't true Dolfans then. I don't remember too many people supporting Jay as QB. Mod Edit

i support joey harrington completely, but it doesnt mean that i want him to start over culpepper, it has nothing to do with that...i truly believe that daunte needs time to mesh with the offense and that this slow start in a way i guess was inevitable but it was hard for any of us to really see that....dauntes the starter on the depth chart and will be until we really are in too big of a hole to get out of and joey is the better option until then dauntes our guy and i have complete faith in him

This is kind of like being on a plane that is in danger or crashing and insisting that the Pilot who is in the ****pit but mortally wounded should get the chance to land the plane beceause he was managing fine so far, when in the cabin there is a perfectly good, experienced pilot in the jump seat who caught a ride on this flight to make it to his connection. So far the first pilot is running us into the ground and there isnt much altitude left to save this plane so if you wait too long to make the switch the whole plane is in danger of being destroyed together. All because on man is a Rah, Rah, let's go team college coach instead of a hard rock balls out NFL coach.
