NFL Network showed the Washington-Baltimore scrimmage yesterday and last night they had the Green Bay Packers scrimmage on. 62,000+ at Lambeau field. Do you think if the Dolphins held a scrimmage at Joe Robbie (Dolphin Staduim), we would get that type of response? 62,000+?

On a side note, Did anyone see the hit that Sean Taylor put on Mike Anderson?

No

I dont think there is any way the Dolphins would have had a turn out like Green Bay did for a scrimmage. Hell, there is always more sorry Jets fans than Dol-Fans in our stadium when they come to town. I went to a Redskins game last year, and they had only a handful of Raiders fan there, every Dolphins game i go to there are tons of opposing fans, where is the love South Florida?
Saw the hit, Sean Taylor is a monster!

The love is here in South Florida for those of us that are Dolphins fans... 4 out of 5 people in South Florida are fans of an out of state team... Just the way it is... The poor saps don't know any better!

i think this year the attendance will be much greater and more games will be completely full, with all the media attention and new additions give more people a reason to come out however for us the real die hard fans it doesnt make a difference because we root for our team every year and get excited every year around this time......i just cant wait for football to start!!!

FYI, I' am just saying that the 62K+ for a scrimmage is very impressive. I watched the Packers scrimmage last year as well, and they had (I believe) over 60K to that one also.

The Dolphins have the worst fan support of any team in the league

I hope this doesn't turn into a Dolphins fan bashing thread, it's not meant to come out that way.

Dolphins fans are far from the worst, just take a look at Arizona:D

That is a pretty bland statement. I can speak for California, that is not true. The fans out here are great, and make long treks to fill Qualcomm stadium up. Next Dolphin vs Charger game come out and see for yourself.:tantrum:

I would think we'd 40k - 50k. There's a great deal of excitement surrounding the team right now.

actually you could say they might have the worst local fan support, but even thats not true.
Outside of Florida the dolphins are one of the most popular, heavily supported teams. Don't u remember when we played in Arizona vs. SD ???? Or every road game where it's atleast 8% phinfans even up North.

There are a number of reasons why this happens.

Each year as many people leave South Fl as move in. Many of those people that move in already have an allegiance to another team (usually from the N East). Having lived in many other states I'm always surprised by how many Fins fans there are around the country, a lot more than live in Miami.

Have you ever been to Green Bay? Not much really to do except go to a football game if you can get a ticket. It's not like you can go to the beach or do some of the other things you can do here in Miami.

A worn out Don Shula stayed too long. Then an already burned out JJ did not stay long enough. Then Wanny (nuff said). Have faith, those were dark years for Fins fans but Saban will create a whole new generation of South Fl Fins fans very quickly. Even convert some of the younger generation yankee transplants over from the dark side.
