draft. Usually, these players have special circumstances that typically relate to not being in school for various reasons (grades, disciplinary reasons). Brooks was dismissed from the University of Virginia for discipline issues I believe. He should be in the July supplemental draft and carries a first day grade (rounds 1 through 3).MYSTERIO said:what is the supulment draft?
year's draft. Miami gave up a 2006 5th round pick to get Wright. Some believe Miami will have to give up a higher pick to get Brooks. You are getting a player earlier than expected, but also more immature in general, and with issues. Some players in the past that have entered the supplemental draft include Calvin Jackson, who played at cb for Miami for a number of years. You have to compare a guy like Brooks to the guys that will be in 2007's draft, and determine if you will get better value then than now. Brooks appears to be worthy of a pick any where from 3rd to 7th. The issue will be where Miami selects and what pick they wager. If a team drafts before Miami, and 15 of them will, the team with the highest wager gets the pick over Miami if they wager more than or equal to Miami. But if no team wagers a pick higher or equal to Miami in draft order 1 through 15, and no team below Miami wagers a pick higher than Miami in the order below them, then Miami gets the player. Trouble is, no team knows what the other is doing. It is a "blind" wager. Last year, no team below Miami wagered more than a 5th round pick for Wright, and San Francisco did not wager a 5th round or higher pick. I hope this clears up the process.MYSTERIO said:so its like u bid on a player with draft picks for next year like we did on manny wright
