I feel like I've read a few mixed reports about the aforementioned fuller, miller, and pruitt... apparently Miller wasn't working with the 1's, 2's, or 3's in red zone work, but he's turned heads with his speed of course. Also a few comments about dropped balls from fuller and pruitt, including a deep ball to pruitt yesterday (I believe) where he was 10 yards away from anyone. But at least he got 10 yards away from his defender. Someone said separation was an issue with fuller, but he's also had some good plays. A few touchdowns for each of those receivers if i'm not mistaken(?) My apologies for not including links or quotes from who's made these comments but I don't feel like digging back through all the tweets. Some of the excitement for fuller, miller, and pruitt I feel like may be built up from pre camp hype though, and when they do something good it may make us forget about when they do things that are average as well. But again, I'm just basing this off of what I've read from the beat writers reports. Haven't been there or anything so I could be entirely off base.
Some of the folks that I don't recall any negative feedback from is Westerman, Jonathan Wade, Bess (same ol bess), Garrard, Tannehill (for the most part, but he's another wagon I feel like people love to hop on at this point and we should wait and see at least till the games, it's only been 2 practices), Starks, and Clay's really been shining apparently. I feel like some of the excitement for some of the players is based on interviews, but I don't think I've heard a player or coach say many bad words about anyone in a single interview, so I don't know if that's a good place to base our opinions. These players are professional media lancers trained to speak nothing that may cast them or their team in a poor light remember.
Dogs of camp thus far... Tyrell Johnson (where'd he go? I thought he was supposed to compete...), Gates (although there has been a few comments about how impressive his speed is, but we already knew that), Ray Feinga apparently had a terrible day yesterday working at RT but that's not his natural position... Really can't think of too many other negatives.
Some other surprises:
-Richard Marshall doing some work in Vontae's position... probably just so they can move around back there and everyone is familiar...
-Not much word about Egnew, has been good at getting separation from linebackers though
-Fasano has been doing some work split out wide... interesting to say the least.
-Haven't heard much about Jonathan Martin so he must not be doing a terrible job blocking Wake amongst others, good for the rook. Also showed that he's no pushover when he got into it with Starks which kind of surprised me from the Stanford man
-I see a lot of love for Jimmy Wilson, and I like him too and hope he does well and starts, but I don't really know where people have been getting these good reports on him from. Other than the fact that he was playing in an injured Chris Clemons place... I haven't really heard anything good or bad about how he played there. Am I missing something?
-I don't know if it's good for the defensive line, or bad for the offensive line, but it sounds like we've been getting a lot of pressure on the quarterback. At the same time I've been reading about an abundance of deep balls. So I don't know how to feel about any of that until we see them play against someone other than ourselves.
Can't wait for more story lines tomorrow :)
